This is great stand. I used sand and water, but it worked with just the water, it holds the 9ft umbrella without any movement or tilting.

Purchased to put an umbrella over my camera bird feeder to keep dry. Seems to be sturdy enough and just what I needed.

Love this product! Easily put together with tools and parts that came with the product. It fully supports my patio umbrella which is larger than a normal sized umbrella.

It’s very cute and sturdy. It has one plug that water or sand can go into. I got it for our umbrella that we will use at the beach. I tried it out with water first at home and it held umbrella well. It has adapters for different size umbrellas. It fit well for ours. I would have given it 5 stars if the design had a better draining system. The only opening is at the top and it is designed in a cone shape that goes into the object itself making a doughnut like interior. That means that last bit of water stays stuck around the opening. I like the stand enough to keep it and we cut an opening in the cone shaped plug. It helped get more water out but it’s not a 100% empty. I think sand will be more troublesome. I think most of it nice the only design flaw is the emptying of the container. Other than that 4 stars.

I will confirm what another reviewer in the comments mentioned. These stands have an engineering flaw. There is a metal "washer" that connects to the tube that will hold your umbrella post, this thin washer is then surrounded by plastic. This metal "washer"/plastic housing is not strong enough to hold the post secure(it is not tempered steel and even if it were it's housed in flexible plastic) and even on day one will not hold an umbrella straight up and the umbrella leans as its weight puts stress on this washer and its plastic housing. In addition do not underestimate how much of a pita it is to put 60#+ of sand through the tiny hole provided that is about the size of a quarter. Whoever engineered this had a laugh. You wiley son of a gun ya got me. Sadly I bought three of them and now that they are full it's too much work to attempt a return so i'll ride them out and replace them probably in the next year or so if my guess is correct. Spend a little more and get a good item. Three stars is probably generous. I cannot imagine that this will not get worse in the wind or just over time.

I use this on my umbrella when I'm outside and it does a great job. It waits down the umbrella and keeps it from flying away
