โGreat Valueโ Dart
So heres the thing. ALL of the complaints regarding quality seem legitimate. Mine arrived intact, no issues with dart fitment or telescoping, no bends or cracks, but as with any mixed metals in salt water, it will inevitably be prone to corrosion. THAT SAID, you get what you pay for with this purchase. This is a solid ready-to-use fish killer, with the exception of a light sharpening of the tip with a file or angle grinder. I personally swapped out the rope it came with for 10 feet of cable Any issues described by others can be corrected with little to no effort, a drill and latch pin, and/or electrical tape. For under $200 bucks, short of DIY, it canโt be beat.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Don't waste your money on this harpoon! It is total junk! I purchased this because of 2 of the features that were not available on other brands. One was the telescopic feature, and this failed even before I got it on the boat. The plastic release mechanism broke only after a couple of times using it. Second was the clip that was supposed to hold the dart line in place while you throw it. The line that came attached to the dart would not stay in the clip as advertised in the video on the manufactures website. (see attached pictures)

Works. Requires sharpening and may not last long in salt water conditions.
This is a good buy for the money. Overall the quality is ok but don't expect this to last long with daily use. As I only use it every once in a while it is a good value for me. But the telescoping latch is definitely a weak point as it appears susceptible to galvanic corrosion due to the aluminum latch with steel pins. The grip ring also immediately rusted off. Should the latch fail you can probably easily drive a screw through it or drill a hole and use a pin as a work around.

Great harpoon for the price tag....period
I want to clear up some confusion and false information that I am seeing in the reviews about this harpoon. 1. Brass darts are NOT supposed to be sharp and most companies send them dull. SOME people choose to sharpen them but in my opinion you risk cutting off your leader and the tag line itself. this dart will push straight through a bluefin tuna regardless of the sharpness. If you want to sharpen it, just sharpen it! 2. This is not to be used on a 500lb Blue Marlin.....Use your head 3. If it breaks it breaks(mine has not yet) you only paid $120!!!!!!!!!! What did you expect?????? 4. if it only gets you one fish before it breaks, you only paid $120!!!!!!!!!! What did you expect?????? 5. If it doesn't last the whole season, you only paid $120.

Damaged out of the box
Nice harpoon but came out of the box with the ring on the grip end crushed and damaged and the button to extend the harpoon was cracked itโs still operational to use and is a sturdy harpoon may have just been mishandled by Amazon

Dart doesn't fit in the shaft very well, very tight.....heavy
First one that showed up the release mechanism was in pieces, second one showed up and the dart fits way to snug to be effective, will have to sand the end down to make it functional. The actual dart maybe a little bent, but no damage to the package, maybe just really poor production quality.

Nice Harpoon!
Works nicely. Add a roll of electrical tape, and some rubber bands and you are golden for tuna fishing! Nice quality, especially for the price.
