Easy to use. Works relatively well for me. Sometimes I just have to use it several times. But it's definitely a great helper and easy to have always in the pocket.

I waited until now to review because I am now in Jamaica. Love it here but I always have bites to deal with. Nothing has worked satisfactory until this product. No itching from treated bites at all.

Important context: I am not a casual receiver of mosquito bites. They are fully blown itch catastrophes for me, and I am, for what I have to assume are several reasons, scrumptious to mosquitoes. My skin sets off signal flares whenever I step outside. My brother can stand right next to me and be ignored, whereas I look down and there are five on each ankle. Most people do not have the kind of extreme response to mosquito bites that I do, but I know I can’t be the only one. DEET works, but it makes me nauseous. Picaridin is less nauseating, but doesn’t deter mosquitoes from me quite as well. Wearing a full mosquito net outfit works very well, but on a hot, humid day, I can’t handle it. I SWEAT. A LOT. When the netting gets wet, it gets clingy, stops working, and feels disgusting. Why not simply avoid the outdoors? I can’t. I am a professional plant person. My job is 100% outside. This year in particular has been hell, and I have considered a career change. I am also seriously considering a moving somewhere else. Until then: This little device is actually helping. More than I was expecting. It works best on fresh bites, but will also work on older ones as long as you have not yet broken the skin by scratching. My experience was: OUCH! It hurt. I had it on the adult setting, sensitive toggle switched on, shortest duration. If you find it hurts a lot, have someone else do it to you. That’s how I broke my own pain threshold. I told my brother what it is, why I want him to do it, and to not be a wuss about it. Now I do it all by myself, sensitive toggle switched off, long duration, which is eight seconds. If you have the kind of histamine response to mosquito bites that I do, if you start to feel deranged from how badly your skin is itching, you might want to try this thing. I woke up this morning and my skin was on fire. I got up, found this tiny device (don’t lose it! I have ordered another as backup, because it is very small and I will probably lose it), and methodically heated every single bite that isn’t a scab into silence. For me, if I zap a really fresh bite, it seems to sometimes have the effect of making it disappear altogether, which is a small miracle. It works on black fly bites, of which I currently have four. Two of them are on different knuckles on my right hand. It’s MADDENING. The heat does hurt, but the feeling afterwards is amazing. Better than drugs. It hurts more or less depending on where the bug bites are. I barely feel it on the weathered, salty-old-sea-captain that is the skin on my outer calves. Bring it around the back or the inside of the same calf, and it makes me hiss. Ditches (armpits, insides of elbows, backs of knees) and ditch-adjacent skins are super sensitive. About two inches above my knee ditches is very sensitive for me, and zapping bites I get there makes me curse, but, again, if I am zapping a fresh bite, odds are decent that that bite will never bother me again. It’s something about heat activating TRPV1 channels, and reducing localized inflammation through itch-carrying C-fiber pathways. I mention this because, despite the fact that I don’t really know what I’m talking about, I can feel what science is trying to tell me. Mosquito saliva sends my nerves into a furor. Heat tells it to shush, and it just… does. It’s pretty rad

Its compact size makes it easy to take anywhere, and by applying concentrated heat, it helps relieve the itching and discomfort of insect bites without the need for creams or chemicals. It is an excellent option to keep on hand for trips, outings, or outdoor activities. Highly recommended!
