Use Allen key to loosen.
When I received my first one it would not rotate. The replacement was also very hard to rotate. I had to use the provided Allen key to loosen it up and make it useable. Overall I am very satisfied, thank you.

Does the job it's intended for and does it perfectly. I use it to mount my phone with a ulanzi phone mount on my camera so I can video while shooting pictures and use the canon connect app all in one package.
