I never thought I would ever pay this much for landscape lightbulbs. I have been using the knock-off standard halogen bulbs in 4 - 7 and 11 watt. Each year I inevitably have to replace several. Tried some cheaper/smaller LED to reduce energy, but they had a harsh, bluish-white light and were much dimmer than a regular 4-watt bulb. Decided to give these a try and WOW...they are great so far. I can’t say how long they’ll last, but hoping they are as long-lasting as most LED bulbs claim to be. They are brighter than I had imagined (probably equivalent to a standard 11-watt halogen)...but I like the pleasant yet ample light for my back yard. They are much warmer in color than the other LED’s I tried. I ordered 7 packs (42 bulbs) and liked them so well I’ve ordered 2 MORE packs. So far, ALL have worked right out of the pack, though I’ve had to slide the wire to the ‘corners’ on a few bulbs for full contact with my older-style Malibu lights....but so far, so good. If you are on the fence about these, I suggest trying them, and if you like warm, gentle yet ample light, I don’t think you will be disappointed! UPDATE: 4 months later, these are still the BEST landscape lightbulbs. The lighting is consistent and I’ve rec’d so many compliments on my evening lights. Going to order more to have on-hand!

When we built our home 16 years ago we added a transformer and some landscape lighting, over the years we've added more path lights and spots. Recently we decided to 'step up' the main entrance and purchased some Kichler Bollard Style lights that really do look nice. They came with a standard 18W T5 incandescent lamp, but I'd already begun using this Makergroup T5 Wedge Base LED and ordered some more at the same time. As we were putting the glass in the new lights we also installed the Makergroup LED's, each of these bollards took two lamps so we went from what would have been 36 Watts, down to 6 Watts right off the bat. One thing I've liked about these T5's is that they seem to fit where other lamps don't. With a Progress light we also use I tried two different T5's from Home Depot (Phillips and another brand), I couldn't get either one of them into the socket. That's when I first tried these and they worked perfectly. We finished assembling the bollards and installed them last weekend, they look beautiful and are a very nice upgrade from the Progress lights. The dual lamp configuration works well and two of these 3 Watt T5's give off plenty of light. We are very pleased with our new bollards and the Makergroup T5 LEDs. (the nighttime photos don't do them justice) Additional: I forgot to mention, when choosing an LED lamp I always look for the ‘lumen’ rating which is a measure of brightness, wattage is a measure of power consumption. These lamps produce 300 lumens while consuming 3 Watts, or 100 lumens per Watt; from what I’ve found this is a reasonably high efficiency of lumens/Watt. If a lamp doesn’t list its lumens I ask, without it you can’t make an informed decision.

I got tired of constantly having to replace burned out incandescent wedge bulbs on my landscape lighting. These fixed that problem. Havent had to replace any of these in 2 years so far, they've held up in all kinds of weather, and are just a little brighter (but not much) than the incandescents were.

This size can work in both automotive lights and outdoor landscaping lights (as long as they are 12 VDC). That means they work for me in the most popular brands of landscape lighting. Here are a few things to know however: 1. These are very bright. I use them for a post lamp that I converted to a 12V LED socket and it throws off a lot of light. This bulb is substantially brighter that I would want to use for pathway lighting, which I have also converted to LED. 2. This model is what is known as a warm white which means it is about the same color temperature as standard landscape lighting. The cool white lights are much too garish for outdoor lighting 3. On the other hand if you plan to use these for automotive applications, the cool white is more suitable for turn signals, running lights, backup lights, etc. 4. The base on these is thicker than a typical glass incandescent landscape bulb. While it will fit in a T5/T10 socket it will spread the contacts permanently. If you ever plan to go back to an incandescent bulb you may need to either replace the socket or readjust the contacts with a sharp knife or needle-nose pliers. 5. There are several styles of LED replacement bulbs but most fall into one of two categories, either one like this in which the elements that light up are arranged around a cylinder about the diameter of a pencil or the other type in which the elements are mounted on two sides of a flat printed circuit board. This type is superior in every way. The flat style only throws light in two directions, which makes it a very poor choice for automotive and of limited benefit for landscape lighting. That type of bulb doesn’t throw any appreciable amount of light upward (in other words, away from the socket). This bulb throws light evenly 360 degrees and also upward (away from the socket). That makes it ideal for my post lamp and sidewalk pathway lighting. LED bulbs last a long time but contrary to some opinions they don’t last forever. They seem to not do well in enclosed spaces (which describes both automotive and most landscape fixtures) so I always buy two at a time for each fixture. The 3 watt (equivalent to an 18 watt) bulbs are rare and expensive when you can find them. Previously I used another popular brand that cost twice as much. Comparatively these are physically a little smaller but have more and larger LED elements for more a omnidirectional lighting pattern. The other brand has the LED’s enclosed in a semi-frosted bulb which seemed like a good idea, however moisture and heat would concentrate inside that space which lead to premature failure.

Bought these for the canopy of my 2008 standard bed pickup truck. The original incandescent was a 906 or 921. This one is significantly brighter and the light is much whiter making it easier to see. It is still a small bulb so don't get your expectations too high but it definitely puts out more candlepower. The original puts out just barely enough light and with a yellowish tint to it. So, I would say this one is worthwhile upgrade. No way for me to know how long this will last but since it's LED I would expect long life.

2013 Winnebago motorhome replacement bulbs. FINALLY a LED replacement bulb with no 12v TV interference. Dozens tried before made an early trash can ending because when watching my 12v Jensen TV turning on the light with a replacement LED bulb made the TV screen go black until I turned the light off. Happy camper now.

These were going into a Kichler deck light, replacing T5 918 Wedge Xenons, incandescent that were not bright enough. Since the Kichler receptacles expected the wedge end contacts to be on the end, it took a little bit of jiggling the contact to get them to catch. I only realized this after I tested the bulbs with a 9V battery and all worked. They are the warm color I expected and the correct brightness. Now the only question is how long do they last — here to hoping that my good fortune continues.

Delighted with the light, the construction quality and color temperature of the light. Will definitely reorder in the future.....

I thought they might be a little brighter but they will do the job- outdoor lights on a hedge

The item seems fragile. Also from the picture you could not tell that both leads are on both sides.

The lamps fall apart. I am a landscape lighting contractor and I have never experienced such poor quality. I would highly advise against purchasing this product!

Two of the lamps didn’t work. Also, they are too thick. Can’t put the light fixture lens. The brightness and colour are great.
