As another review said, the locking mechanism breaks. Only just turned it to unlock and the little pin came out making the whole lock come loose. I was able to push it back in and keep it locked in place for now. I would've returned but we needed these setup for the roof basket (see my review on that one, another dud). The rails themselves are ok. The front is fine but not sure why the rear is significantly shorter, it takes a bit of muscle to align them properly and doesn't sit as perfectly as the Brightlines I had in my older crosstrek. For the price I wouldn't expect so many issues.

EDIT: to fix any wind noise you're getting. Buy a small roll of about 6 feet of paracord and make about 8 or so wraps across each bar, spread them out, they don't need to be tight fully wrapped at all, just enough to break the vlocity of wind hitting the bar which it does amazingly! I have no noise whatsoever except a tiny bit of resistance noise, but definitely no whislte or howling like before I wrapped them. Highly recommed this, other than that these fit PERFECT on my 2024 Crosstrek Premium! If they aren't fitting yours, loosen the clamp bolts and make sure the bottom plate nearly covers the entire underneath of the mount area and hold in place while tightening. These work great on my 2024 Crosstrek Premium. I will say though, however, they do add a lot of wind noise. They are installed the proper direction and all that business. They are simply taking on wind as you would normally guess because of what they are but you will distinctly hear it absolutely if you leave them on your car full time. I have decided to unlock them and keep them at home until I actually need to haul something on the roof because the noise can be quite loud with the sunroof open. And the faster you go the louder it gets so I would recommend not using them mounted full-time if noise is an issue to you. Even with my moonroof closed right now and the music off driving 35 miles an hour, I can hear the one closest to the roof howling very loudly because of the wind created when the vehicle is moving. other than that I love them and they're great and they're going to work fine for my hauling needs

I ordered this kit for my 2024 Crosstrek primarily for transporting long boards from the local home store and for attaching an overhead box in case of a need to evacuate due to a natural disaster, particularly hurricanes. Quality: The luggage rails appear to be of superior quality. The rails are constructed from powder-coated aluminum, and the additional hardware is made of robust ABS. Design: These rails are specifically designed to fit the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and are not compatible with other vehicles to my knowledge. The rail design features an airfoil (teardrop) shape intended to reduce wind noise, although I have yet to test this at high speeds with the rack installed. The section that connects with the factory-installed rail on the car includes a built-in rubber boot that forms a nice seal, further reducing noise. The mounting points are safeguarded by a keyed cowling, which may seem excessive, but the added security is a welcome feature. Installation: The instructions provided were minimal but sufficient. A hex key wrench is included, which fits the hardware, but it is not suitable for retightening the lateral adjustment bolts. For this, you will need to supply your own low-clearance hex key. The bolts are metric, but an SAE hex key can be used as a substitute if necessary. The installation process was straightforward: loosen all components, align the rail with the car, and then tighten. Make sure that the rails are installed in such a way that the fat part is facing the front of the car. There are embossed arrows on the ABS parts that indicate the way to install the rails if you get confused. Overall: I am quite satisfied with these rails. They have a factory-installed appearance and enhance the versatility of an already flexible vehicle.

After some rain the finish wore off to fiber glass so I couldn't pick them up with my hands without itching. Ended up needing yo buy a new set.

I had to do an exchange as the first set came in with a manufacturers defect, I contacted the manufacturer and they said it would be several weeks to get a replacement part. Instead I just did an exchange with Amazon that took a week to get the new rack. It was easy to install and fits great but there is a high pitch whistling noise starting about 35 miles a hour. It is nothing worth returning the cross bars over but it is just there.

Vine is not free. My cost is time for an honest review & photos plus 30 percent of full value. I just got a new 2024 Crosstrek with Side Rails but needed these for added compatibility and to a little extra height to keep things from touching the top of the car. The rails atop the Crosstrek are about 42-1/2" apart and these open max to about 43" with maybe 1-1/2" adjustment narrower on each side. The Allen key screws to tighten the cross members are very difficult to reach once the crossbars are attached (the tool provided will Not fit underneath - I had to use my own). I opened both clamps and adjusted one side of the cross member to full wide, then tightened it up so I only had to fuss with the other side. I placed the roof rack as recommended in the instructions, measured both sides to ensure they were square, tightened the clamps and locked the covers. All that remained was to tighten the 4 remaining cross-member screws which was a real PIA! Auto roof temps in Texas were about 125, a towel was required AND I had to use a mirror to see where the screws were. All in all installation took about 45 minutes and a margarita. These roof bars are Solid and locked on tight with unexpectedly little added wind noise no doubt due to their aerodynamic shape. These are a great value compared to the OEM and aside from minor installation hassles, highly recommended.
