Ethereal Visions Illuminated Tarot Deck: Elegant 80-Card Art Nouveau Tarot Deck with Gold Foil, Full-Color 140-Page Guidebook, Hand-Drawn Illustrations – Ideal for Beginners & Collectors Review: Now the best and most beautiful deck I own, filled with wonderful energy and elegance - This is easily the best, most beautiful and unique Tarot deck I own, and yet it isn't even the most expensive! Frankly I can't believe I got a deck like this for under $20 and that's including shipping. While I understand what another reviewer says about finding the gold stamping to be a bit "garish", I don't really agree, I think it's lovely. That being said though, I would happily spend twice as much on an edition that is illuminated with silver stamping instead of gold. I think the art style and color palette of this deck would just naturally look a lot better with soft, feminine silver. Maybe something for the artist to think about! The card stock is wonderful and the illumination makes this feel like the most special and indeed ethereal deck. It feels opulent without being gaudy. One reviewer didn't care for it but I personally love that the numbers of the Majors are all in different places and sizes. It makes each card feel more unique and whole unto itself, thereby giving the whole deck - especially the Majors - even more distinction. I haven't seen another deck that does that, that I know of, so I appreciate the originality. With almost every single Tarot deck I own (and even a couple of my oracle decks), there are at least one or two cards that have depictions I just don't feel like really work with the meaning or simply aren't well done artistically...not so with this deck! I found every single interpretation and representation to be pretty great. However, some people might take issue with the fact that the hand in the Ace of Swords is holding it by the blade (something I don't think I've ever seen before) and I can understand why, but I choose to see it as an illustration of mastery...anyone can at least hold a sword by the handle, but only the Ace, who represents the pure essence of the suit and its element, would be able to grasp it by the blade and not be hurt by it. I feel that this is what Matt Hughes meant to convey with this unique choice. Reversed, I would take this particular Ace of Swords to perhaps mean that one is abusing the energy of the suit or is in no position to attempt to wield a sword or they will only hurt someone, likely themselves. Seeing this card in reverse could also be humbling for a blustery air sign who is all talk and thinks they handle their "sword" better than they actually do. I know I've encountered people like that many times. And this deck truly works, and definitely resonates with me personally. It is very "me", as I am a huge fan of art nouveau and the overall look and color scheme are favorites. I highly recommend taking time to charge and attune this deck to your personal energy, and one of my favorite things to do in that regard is to hold the deck to my heart and let my heartbeat vibrate through all the cards. One particular card came up three different times in the few readings I did upon first receiving this and charging it, including the "card of the day" pull, and the different questions the same card answered ended up tying together pretty interestingly. So it works! I has energy and magic for sure and you can only enhance it with a simple charging/attuning/dedication ritual. My only "problem" is that this is so very beautiful and special that I'm afraid to use it too much for risk of damaging it, particularly the illumination. Just need to be careful! I have been watching and waiting for this deck since it was on Kickstarter and I am so thrilled to finally have it. Any Tarot reader and especially collector needs this deck, particularly if you are a fan of art nouveau. Cannot wait for Matt's Dreamscape oracle now! Review: Thick, beautiful cards - Thick cards, large and perfect for shuffling, and the art is absolutely stunning. This deck is PERFECT. Also the book it comes with is high quality, thick laminated pages with pictures and descriptions. Absolutely stunning.

Beautiful deck
Absolutely beautiful cards. The cardstock is wonderful. The illustrations are very beautiful and I love the colors. They feel good in my hands when I shuffle them. The guidebook is great as well. In my opinion, these cards are worth more than I paid for them. This is easily one of my favorite decks of not my favorite.

A must-buy for tarot collectors
First I will begin by saying Amazon delivered my packaged 2 days ahead of schedule on a Memorial Day weekend. I am very happy to be able to enjoy my new tarot deck, while I have free time over the holiday break. As for the Ethereal Visions tarot, I adore it! I originally purchased the "limited edition" signed and numbered copy from a person who backed the Kickstarter campaign. The campaign is over and those signed/numbered decks are still being sold for $50+shipping by the artist. So, the question is: What is the difference between that LE deck and this one by US Games? The answer is: THE BOX! If you felt like you missed out on the special signed/numbered deck, dont! The cardstock quality and beautiful gold foil accented artwork is just the same on both versions of the deck. There may be a very slight difference in saturation of the image colors between the two, but for the most part this deck sold by Amazon/US Games is identical and so is the LWB (Little white book/ guidebook). I ultimately parted ways with my signed copy, only to replace it with this copy because of the beautiful storage box. It is much more elaborate, elegant and matches the artwork of the cards beautifully as it also has gold foil accents. Overall, I very much love this deck and the imagery is easy to interpret as it is based upon the RWS (Rider Waite Smith) interpretation and symbolism. I love how this artist also adds two (2) unique cards of his own making to the Major Arcana titled "The Artist" and "The Well". In this deck you will have 24 Majors and 80 cards in total. My only negative comment is the "Ace of Swords" as the hand is holding thr sword by the blade. This could open gateway to other intuitive interpretations to this card meaning...some will love/hate it, but I am stating this for the purpose of a complete review. I will include photos of the deck I received and one of the signed/numbered deck (plain navy blue box). I love this packaging way more and saved over $20 USD!

Very pretty deck. A wonderful visual combination of gold foil across the imagery, the soft tonal pastel colours and the art noveau style design. It keeps very close to the Rider Waite Smith so good for beginners. Has a decent little guidebook. Card stock sturdy.

Ça me va.
