This unit is smaller. The controls are easy to use and the led lights cast a nice light. While the humidity hasn't spiked yet due to cooler than normal temps this spring I did test the unit out in our basement utility room that houses a sump pump and does often seem to be damp. It seemed like it took a while to start collecting water but definitely reduced the humidity in the room over a few hours. I was also surprised at the energy consumption while running at just over 84 watts. At 12 hours a day of usage this should only cost around $4 a month to run. Your costs may vary based on local electricity costs. Overall I was pleased with the ease of use and small footprint. It's quiet when it's running which is a plus. All you do is plug it in and press the power button. It easy to pour the water out you just slide it out and lift the lid and pour out the water, then easily slide it back into the slot. It gotten significantly cooler in my apartment ever since this has been on. In addition my humidity sensor in my apartment has been significantly lower than what it used to be. I would 10/10 recommend for smaller areas. It works well in my 1 bedroom apartment, and I have it in my living room, and the noise is not that loud. I landed on this one which had decent reviews overall and it was affordable so I figured why not. When it came it was much smaller than I expected which was fine. After a few days of using we were noticing a significant amount of water in the tank which was great and according to the nest it was indeed working.
