The space I treated was 20 by 38 ft. I used a 3/4 inch roller to give the gelcoat surface a slightly rippled surface. The MEK was mixed at 1% (two tsp of MEK per Quart. I just poured the gelcoat onto the deck and used a broom handle to apply the mixture. After applying one quart, I simply went back to my table and made up another quart. I used a plastic 2 qt. paint bucket to mix. I have never done this before and was a bit skittish. I should not have been!! It was so easy and I only used 1 1/2 gallons of the gel coat. The coverage was absolutely amazing!! I applied a second coat to some of the rougher surfaces with no trouble at all. I let the mixture set overnight, but was pretty well hardened in an hour. The result was fantastic. I had to remove a couple of insects from the gel coat, but a quick brush over the surface fixed it just fine. This is a five star gel coat and I had so much fun.
