Vorfreude Left or Right Ear Hearing Enhancement Amplifier Aid ITC (In the Canal)

This little hearing helper works a lot better than the over-the-ear one I tried first. It's more comfortable in the ear than I expected, too! It does enhance my hearing quite well, but if there is a fan or air conditioner running nearby while watching TV or listening to music, it isn't as effective due to the background noise. I suppose earphones in such situations would be better. Not really a fair "complaint", and I expected that would be the case. I really don't know about "live" conversations with the A/C running. Might do fine. Haven't had a chance to really check that out, yet. I have had visitors when the A/C was off, and found that I could hear our conversation quite well with the Vorfruede. The volume dial is a challenge for me, though. I have arthritis and carpal tunnel..so the tips of my fingers don't have very good tactile sense. I have to remove the device from my ear and watch while I try to turn the little dial. Can't really do it by feel. Again: not really the hearing aid's fault. It's just a condition I have that complicates things. Bottom line is, for the money, this thing really is effective and does help with slight to moderate hearing problems. Worth checking out! The people at Vorfreude seem to be eager to be of help, and are quite nice.

WITHOUT A TEXTURED SURFACE TO GRIP. IMPOSSIBLE TO TEST SOUND. REASON FOR ONE STAR. IF ARTHRITIC BETWEEN THUMB AND FOREFINGER, SHINY, NON-TEXTURED SURFACE IMPOSSIBLE TO GRASP. SIMPLE RUBBER GRIPS FOR MAYBE A DOLLAR MORE, OR GROOVED PLASTIC, WOULD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. SHINY SURFACE MAYBE EASY TO WIPE CLEAN BUT ANY SURFACE CAN BE PROPERLY CLEANED. I WILL UPDATE MY REVIEW----WHEN----I FIGURE OUT A SURFACE-TEXTURE. MEANWHILE, INTO THE PROJECT ''JUNK-DRAWER''. SPEND A LITTLE MORE FOR QUALITY. THE NICE PACKAGING FOOLS YOU. I have mild hearing loss stemming from frequent childhood ear infections. Instead of buying $5000 hearing aids, I ordered two of these for the time being. The sounds are loud and clear. I hear every little thing...every creaky noise, distant conversations...the wind. The piece is kind of bulky for my taste. I have to stick it far into my canal so it won't look weird barely hanging out of me ear. After a while, it gets itchy. But other that that, it works great! I wish it amplified certain sounds or frequencies so that my ears aren't overwhelmed. I'll use them for class and when I'm at work for sure. I can not wear them all day.

When I lost the Vorfreude hearing device that this one replaced, I was so upset. I do not hear well out of either ear, but the hearing aid works better in my right ear since it has a little more hearing than the left one. I could not hear the rain, my husband snoring or talking to me, the next-door neighbor starting up his Harley, nothing. Once I got this hearing aid, I can hear again! It works great. My husband is happy because he doesn't have to scream anymore for me to hear him, and I'm happy because I can hear!! If you can't hear well, this is a great lower-cost solution than a $2,000 hearing aid.

Overall quality... well it isn’t the best. They’re not hearing aids, more like sound amplifiers. There’s a white background noise that’s constant when it’s turned on, and yes you can hear things better. When in a room of people talking and noise, these do not do well, Ive had to take it out because the sound is overwhelming. All I have to say is do your research before looking for non-prescription hearing aids.

Bought for husband, they work great at adding the sound, but he does say they are a bit echo'ie...They did come with 2 ear buds but still a bit bulky with regards to could be small to fit ear better as they are tight and says it begins to hurt after a bit. For the price they are great. Wondering if they have other earbud options that you can get? Also, beware if you have barking dogs, when you have these in it is very loud as you have adjusted them to hear the TV, but when the dogs bark, look out - not sure how to find a happy medium.

I wouldnt recommend this product, first time my mom opened it and tried to use it, rubber ear plug broke, and the battery didnt last for even a week even when she turned it off every night. There is life time warranty and i havent received nee one yet and you would also end up buying batteries every week. Not worth it!!!

These were purchased for my mother in law who for the past 10 years has had a significant hearing loss. Now I am a product review reader, that is I read all the reviews before making my decision to purchase a product. Very fast shipping and everything was included. I purchased 2 - for right and left ears. They were delivered in new packaging and were very affordable. I put in the battery of which each box contained (2), and the smallest ear bud, turned it on and turned up the volume. Put it in my mother in laws ear and whispered, can you hear us now? This was met with one of the biggest smiles I have ever seen this woman have. She said yes, can you turn it down please. So we put the other side in and again how about now. She said yes do you know it's been 10 years since I have been able to hear clearly. Handed her the boxes with the other (4) different size of earbuds, and the other (2) batteries and cleaning tools. I am very pleased with this product and would 100% recommend it to anyone with hearing loss.
