When the court system isn't working for you and you have to attempt to keep yourself secure you start looking into alternative options especially living in the country 30 minutes from the nearest police station. I was interested in this as a non obvious warning system (as oppose to cameras and alarm system that I can't afford) and a method of non lethal fear. I haven't picked up blanks as of yet, but I have played around with this device. Directions have been included and setting this up was fairly easy for me. While you will need to supply your own trip wire, the method of deliverance appears to work easily and well requiring only a small amount of force to deploy. This is a heavy device but appears to be well made. You will want to secure this by nailing or screwing it into a door frame or tree and holes have been provided for this. While this may not be as thorough as a full home security system, it does offer a bit of security to my home and is kinda fun too. For the present price of $25.99 this seems to be with in fair market value for this style of device.

this really does work just as intended. it comes with a couple ways to hook the trip wire up to the alarm, to facilitate a good perimeter. so now i know for sure if anyone is coming into my apartment late at night and so far no i am kept safe by this excellent device and don't have to use the real 12 gauge

This perimeter alarm works just as it's designed to work. Other reviewers stating it wouldn't set off the primer is because they didn't adjust the pull rod so the firing pin would protrude further out, setting off the primer. My trip alarm arrived with the firing pin barely protruding past the hole. If I left it that way, I too, would be having failures. I would recommend this. It works good, is quality made and easy to deploy. Just don't forget to adjust the pull rod so the firing pin sticks out far enough to set off the primer.

Product doesnt activate the blank shell, doesnt have enough power .

I have not been able to test this out with actual blanks yet but I can review the quality of the construction. The plate doesn't completely cover the firing pin. It covers most of it, and it's probably enough to function, but I think it would be better if it was able to slide all the way back and cover it all. The instructions are pretty poor, although it is pretty simple to figure out. The plate and the safety pin are pretty thin. The spring does seem like it would be strong enough. The holes in the plate for the tripwire could've been made bigger in my opinion. Overall, this product could use some improvements but it will probably get the job done.

This 12 gauge blank perimeter trip alarm is good quality and is made out of aluminum. I have never used one of these before but it looks to be simple to set up and use, however I suggest doing several test runs to get it properly adjusted since you don't want a 12 gauge blank going off on you especially since they are not cheap. There was no wire included with this device so you will need to determine what kind of trip wire to use although I am sure they have it on Amazon. I ordered this product to use near my vehicle on my rural property to keep vandals away although I am still trying trying to figure out how to keep deer and other animals from triggering it since they come around my house a lot. This product will also help secure the perimeter around your campsite when in the woods which is definetly needed in areas where there are bears, mountain lions and even bigfoot! Overall, this is another device you can use along with an outdoor camera system as part of a security system to help protect a specific perimeter around a house or campsite.

This perimeter alarm is very well made out of quality material. It is very easy to maintain, deploy and retrieve. Super simple design makes it very easy to use. I must have for anyone who is trying to secure a large perimeter.
