Featuring a user-friendly interface and durable build, it delivers precise iodine measurements essential for maintaining optimal aquatic health. ## Description Gain confidence in your water testing results with our simple handheld colorimeter. Trust your readings now, our iodine colorimeter brings you more accurate technology than your average chemical test kit. Eliminate the struggle of determining colors visually, with our handheld colorimeter gives you digital iodine results directly. The HI718 Checker (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a simple, accurate and cost effective way to measure iodine. Introduced as an alternative to chlorine, iodine as a sanitizer decreases eye irritation in pools and saps and provides a more stable level of disinfection in adverse conditions. However, due to its toxic and corrosive properties, iodine is strictly monitored. Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI718 provides quick, accurate results in a few easy steps. Review: Not for saltwater tanks - Be very careful guys. This iodine tester is NOT for saltwater aquariums (even though it says it is). The reading only goes down to 0.0 ppm and you need the reading to be at least to 0.00 ppm. My ICP test says my iodine level is 20 ug/l (0.020 ppm) and I need it between 30 and 90 ug/l. I was doing some research to see if you can change the way you do the test to get the level you need when I found out that this tester is for iodine used in spas and pools. Which is not the same iodine used in our tanks. Review: Not for Aquarium water testing - Useless for aquarium testing, always reads zero. ## Features - Hanna HI718 - Iodine Water Tester is designed for direct measurement - Compact Design: With its compact and portable design, this meter is perfect for on-the-go testing in various applications. - MULTI USE - Ideal for aquariums and marine biology applications. - Our portable handheld colorimeter goes where you go. - Easy Operation: Features a user-friendly interface with simple button operation, making it easy to navigate and take measurements. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Customer Reviews | 3.9 out of 5 stars 8 Reviews | ## Images ![Hanna HI718 Checker Saltwater Aquarium Iodine Colorimeter -Water Tester - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51p3798-lkL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ Not for saltwater tanks *by G***L on June 30, 2025* Be very careful guys.
