desertcart.com : Samyang Spicy Chicken Stir Fried Noodles Ramen (Carbo Buldak x 1 pk) : Grocery & Gourmet Food Review: She's a Keeper - Never could my comment be as majestic as Kim's comment. However, with complete agreement, this is by far not as hot as the YouTube weenies make it out to be. Although it may not be the right amount of hell-fire I'm looking, this has forever replaced the position in the cabinet once claimed by the majestic Top Ramen Chicken Flavor. The quality of noodles make Top Ramen seem like they may be fake. These noodles are full of flavor when dry, wet, sauced up, warm, and even cold. Top Notch! The only down side is you only get 5 packs for a whopping $9.00; I'm not sure if that's from shipment or the media hype of the Noodle Challenge. To sum it all up: they could be spicier, they are definitely pricey for the amount you get, and they have absolutely become the best spicy ramen I have had despite the real deal from Japan. Review: Very spicy and very delicious - I don't usually write reviews but I have to for these noodles. I first found out about these after I watched the YouTube channel TheWolfePit post a video about it. Obviously, they are quite spicy, especially when you use the whole packet of sauce like I do. I have a fairly good spice tolerance. I put hot sauce in my eggs for breakfast, my Bloody Marys, hot dogs, burgers, everything. But it still takes me a while to get through a bowl of these. That said, this isn't one of those gimmicky "spicy challenge" fad foods you see on YouTube or Instagram. Well, maybe it is, given how I discovered it. Still, the flavor of these noodles simply fantastic. There's definitely a solid umami flavor in there with a hint of teriyaki-like sweetness behind the heat. This is simply the best prepackaged ramen I've ever had. If you don't have a spice tolerance at all (I'm talking, you get tea at McDonald's because soda is too spicy-type lack of spice tolerance) just buy this anyway and only add a drop or two of the spicy sauce, it's that good. Both the regular 2x spicy chicken and the cheese flavors are good (those are the ones I've had so far), but I prefer the former as they're spicier and you can always add cheese if you want. Plus, the spiciness enhances the flavor I think. If you're like me and challenging yourself to build up your spice tolerance, this is probably not only the most cost effective way to do so, but the most delicious way. After reading this, scroll back up, buy a pack, and you'll know.

NOT FOR WHIMPS
If your idea of spicy is a jalapeno or the DIABLO sauce from Taco Bell, you are NOT ready for this ramen. I'm not being diminutive, I'm speaking in a sense of saving you from feeling like your mouth is melting. Each package has 5 packs of the Ramen and each pack of ramen comes with a sauce packet and seasoning packet. I personally find the flavor of the sauce, amazing. It has heavy chile taste, assuming you can actually taste it, and the seasoning packet brings a welcome blend of sesame and dried seaweed. The noodles are a slight bit thicker than your typical maruchan or top ramen and frying them up as instructed allows them to take to the sauce fantastically. These noodles are not for the faint of heart and I ONLY recommend them for fans of extreme spice. For reference, standard Tabasco sauce has 3,750 Scoville Heat Units(SHU). I regularly eat food around 250,000SHU and found these to have a decent amount of spice (They made my nose run, but did not make me sweat or cry.) So if you're a heat freak such as myself, buy yourself a pack of these, they're great.

A must try
I really enjoyed these noodles. With that being said they are hot if you don't like a little heat do not try them but if you do like heat give them a try they are spicy and to my surprise they have a good taste that makes you want to keep eating but once you stop eating you will feel the heat.lol

Wow! Finally found some extra spicy with some real heat!
We loved these and will be ordering more. Brought us halfway to our knees which was refreshing because we're the type always looking to be challenged by restaurants claims of "nuclear" wings or the "hottest sauce anywhere" and we are always disappointed. The best we've found locally we still cover in red pepper flakes just to give them a bit more zing. So, we were hopeful but only cautiously optimistic when we found these online. We made them per the instructions and didn't add anything extra for the first batch. The taste is great, not too salty but very flavorful and I love the thicker texture, the heat didn't seem bad at first but of course it builds... I caved about halfway through my bowl, drank a glass of milk and then went back in for the rest. So, if you like to be challenged definitely give these a try. If your local hot wings are more than spicy enough for you, you may want to give these a pass. My second batch was for a quick lunch and I added some veggies and a bit of pineapple juice for some sweetness and I only used about 1/2 the pack of seasoning sauce. They were perfect but still brought a tear to the eye and were hotter than any I could get locally. We're impressed and can't wait for our next batch!

I'm actually scared to eat the rest.
I don't usually write reviews but I just had to for these noodles. These noodles are EXTREMELY spicy! I got my whole family to taste it and it was just way too spicy. You can just smell the heat in this. It did nothing for me for a few seconds but then I got a very intense burning sensation in my mouth. It took me a whole hour and 3 and a half tall bottles of water just to finish ONE bowl; I had to keep taking breaks. I was breaking out in a small sweat and actually felt kinda dizzy while eating this, but still managed to eat it all. Seriously I don't even know what I can compare the spice of these noodles to; it's just that spicy. I have some packs left but I'm going to toss out the sauce packets and use the noodles in a stir fry or something (the noodles themselves have a nice thick texture, thicker than the ramen noodles you'll get at the grocery store). If you can (somehow) get past the spice, it's actually quite tasty. but I can't really handle it. I still give these noodles 5-stars though for the fun experience.

Delicious, but very spicy!
This soup isn't for the spice novice. I'm a spice enthusiast, and I never can find ramen hot enough to satisfy. I bought a package of these, and a package of the ones in the black packaging. The ones in the black (1/2 as spicy as this one) are nice and hot, but not overbearing. I actually prefer it over this 2x hot one. I can eat the entire bowl without needing a cooling agent. When I ate this 2x hot one, I was disappointed at first because it tasted just as hot as the black one. However, that was short lived. Like a ghost pepper this one creeps up in you very slowly! I was constantly sipping milk as I ate the bowl because it was burning the tongue pretty intensely! If you're looking for a super hot bowl of ramen this is the way to go.

Very hot and tasty!
I really like these noodles, they're very tasty and of course, hot. The spice of these things is about right for me. I usually add Dave's insanity sauce to my noodles to get them to the heat that I like. After making these, they are just right - hot with a touch of sweet to them. I don't really taste chicken it though. Will these be too hot for you? If you're the type that goes into a hot wings restaurant and says 'Gimme the hottest thing you got,' these will be good to you. If you're the type that orders medium heat wings or below, these will most likely be blisteringly hot to you. Tasty tip: I like to scramble an egg and pour it in while the noodles are boiling. If you do this, make sure you pour the egg in slowly. If you pour it too fast the egg will cool the water to less than a boil and won't cook as well, so again, pour it in slow. ENJOY!

Pleasantly, burningly surprised
I love spicy food. I love, love, love spicy food. I amaze and annoy my family members and everyone around me in equal measure with my preoccupation for such delightfully masochistic self-inflicted suffering. Not just in savoury foods, but also sweet. I frequently add four kinds of pepper to everything I make, and add neutral spices to my maple syrup just for an extra kick. i like it hot, yo. Something I've noticed is a lot of food that is focused on being hot waylays flavour. So there is heat, but there is nothing enticing or more complex to accompany it. It's disappointing and makes for a flat, incomplete experience. And it is absolutely not an issue here! At the end of day, this is a pack of instant noodles. We all know these aren't the best for you and will probably shave years off your life with every wonderfully manufactured bite, so have them in moderation, but there is excellent flavour here. I love the bounce and feel of the noodles, too, nice and fun to chew. My fave to date. It made for a nice complement. But these are sooooo goooood. As for spice, they are decently spicy! I saw these during the spicy noodle challenge and looking at all the reactions I knew it was something I wanted to do. Trying to convey spice, though, is difficult. Impossible. Everyone's levels of tolerance are different, so to the person saying that people who said those who didn't find them as spicy had to have been drinking bevs, I say not everyone will have the same experience as you. If you find sriracha very spicy, these will annihilate you, leaving an ashen smear where your body once stood moments before it exploded in a fiery blaze. So, y'know, just be aware of that and inform your loved ones of your possible express trip to the depths of hell if need be. For me, these were spicy enough that I would get them again, and yes the spice did linger with me, I breathed a lot, and I felt my sinuses clear, but at no point did I ever struggle to eat them. In fact, I could not get them in fast enough they were so goood. After I had one pack, I immediately had another and counted the hours until I deemed it acceptable to have a third. I would recommend the following for first-timers: Drain ALL the water instead of leaving some as per the instructions. This will concentrate the sauce and not dilute the heat. And be advised if you decide to add additional items like meat or vegetables, because that is more area your sauce needs to cover so that too so it may spread it a bit thin. Adding more stuff isn't a bad idea, It's delicious and i had it with bok choy and shrimp, but I think I will save that for other noodles because this is all about the spice for me. All in all, highly recommend!
