Excellent book for learning to use your Ball Jam and Jelly maker.....
I got super lucky after Christmas and nabbed a Ball Freshtech Jam and Jelly maker for half off. I was raised by a mother who canned and froze everything so making jams and jellies was not a huge mystery to me. Being a very small household with no children I stopped making my own preserves for obvious reasons. I am now back to making very small batches of my childhood favorites and this book is helping me with learning to use my Ball Jam and Jelly maker.I HIGHLY recommend the mulled cider jelly. I am not a fan of "store" apple jelly because it's way to sweet and where is that nice apple flavor? I juiced my own apples and made this recipe and I could sit and eat it by the spoonful. I WILL be making that again and taking the time to make my own apple juice was time well spent.Bottom line here.....this is just a good book with lots of good, EASY recipes and you can also be as creative as you want to be or stick with the recipe until you feel like expanding out of your comfort zone.A bonus? YOU control the sugar......YOU control your ingredients and YOU are creating something yummy and it's just FUN!

I'm new to making jam and jelly
I recently bought a used Ball Jam and Jelly maker. I'm pretty much a jam addict and it was getting expensive to buy homemade jam. The problem with buying used is that they never have the recipe book or the operating instructions. In my search for recipes that would work in the Jam Maker, I found this one. Every recipe is for the Jam Maker. It has every jam and jelly I have been wanting to try, plus some ones I never thought of, but am dying to try. Oh my, the ideals! I have used two of the recipes, so far, and the results have made me feel like I have been doing this forever. Lots of hints and helps. I don't think I could have chosen a better cookbook.

Good for beginners
Got this for my mom since she loves canning. She said there’s a lot of good recipes and it’s good for beginners!

This book is great.
I thought this was a great find when I bought the Ball Jam and Jelly Maker, which is ridiculously simple and so easy to use. Then I thought, well, am I now stuck using the recipes from the pamphlet that came with the appliance and that's it...?? It's not complicated, but the machine does not account for jam/jelly recipes which call for varying temps and varying times. So then, I found this little gem. What a great book, with countless recipes to use in the jam/jelly maker. It's great to make little jars for gifts as the holiday season approaches. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and have shared with countless friends.

Great to have if you have a jam maker!
This book is awesome and comes with so many great recipes. I just recently purchased a jam maker and noticed the recipes for it were limited, so I began looking around and came across a suggestion for this in a canning group I’m in. Being fairly new to canning, this helped me greatly as I’m not experienced enough to convert recipes to work with the jam maker. Thanks so much for a great book with a great variety of different recipes!!! I highly recommend this if you have a jam maker!

Recommended, but with caution
There's a bit of good and bad with this cookbook. The good is that the recipes are very tasty and very easy. The bad is at least one of the recipes is off on the pectin (pomegranate jelly). I noticed it asked for 4 tsp but most of the others had 4 tbsp. I followed the recipe anyway and ended up with soup. Tasty soup, but still soup! It never set. Also, there is no suggested timing if you decide to water bath can the jellies. I went with 10 min. As a side note. The pomegranate jelly suggested adding orange liqueur - I went with pure orange extract instead and it had great flavor.

? Typo on pomegranate jelly?
Book looks fab but I followed the instructions ‘to the T’ and the jelly didn’t set.I then noticed that all but one of the other jelly recipes have tbs for the pectin but this one has tsp whcih is what I did. I DID think that x4 teaspoons was very little at just 20g. Going to reprocess it in the hope that it sets up.It might be because of the amount of naturally occurring pectin in pomegranate, i’m unsure but I was a bit disappointed that the first one I made didn’t set.I will retry it at a later point and edit this if it works.
