Excellent Camera
This is my second REOLINK 4K Solar camera. They both work great and are durable. Easy to setup and program. The newer one has an improved bracket for mounting in trees, allowing you to easily remove the camera and recharge it if necessary. Both cameras work well in cold, sub zero and adverse conditions. Solar charging is affected due to winter conditions dark cloudy days. Requiring USB charging lasting 4 to 6 months. The camera is clear, detects and isolates vehicles, humans and animals. These cameras are well priced with numerous features and enhancements. They do not require a subscription and use a SIM card. The REOLINK APP is easy to download using the QR code and allows you to monitor your property anywhere using your cellphone. You can send photos and videos using the RL app. Highly recommended!

It’s pretty good.
Picture is pretty clear love that it can move. I had got one like lasted 3years it was working I had it on my power pole for my mobile home and one day. Light company came to switch it to my house and shows them coming and then it stopped working so can’t say it’s missed up since last thing on there is them same day misses up. Went to look at it and the solar cable was missed up and on the cam just said power low and never showed a video again. Had SD card.. was about 150’ from the house and showed good mosts times. Except storms ,high winds.

You May Want To Consider Buying a Different Camera
I have purchased several dozen Reolink cameras over the years and have generally been pretty satisfied, but not this time. I purchased two of these units this year and have had trouble with both of them. The latest saga went line this: 1. Bought the unit from Amazon, arrived quickly, no problems 2. Installed the unit at my lake home. Again, no problem, hooked up fine, worked well for about a week. After that, it disconnected and I had to drive out to the lake to troubleshoot. 3. I reset the unit and it worked fine. Went back home 4. The unit disconnected. I went to the lake and the red light was blinking on the front. 5. I pressed the power button to turn it off and it would not turn off. The flashing red light turned solid. I thought maybe the solar panel was not charging it properly so plugged it into a wall charger. No joy. Still red light. 6. I went online to read how to do a factory reset. They do a TERRIBLE job of providing this information. Most of the tutortials supplied by the company tell you to take a pin and press the reset button, which is fine except there is no hole for the pin and no reset button. 7. If you don't mind spending another half hour or so you can finally track down that on this unit you actually have to power the unit up then press the power button three times to do a factory reset. Two problems here - first is that the unit does not respond to pressing the power button - will not turn on, will not turn off. Second problem is that neiter will the unit respond the three rapid pushes of the same button. It is real and truely jammed up. I will keep reading. Maybe someplace they say you need to press the button thee times, throw salt over your right sholder and spin on you heel or something.. 8. So, I now have a unit with a glowing red light and otherwise dead.

Great camera. Lousy first level tech support.
This is our 4th Reolink camera and I have to say that they are fantastic. They are clear as if you were standing there, record really, really well, are easily manipulated, have a bunch of settings that allow for personalization, and stay fully charged as long as you live in a sunny area, which we do. We rely on them to keep an eye on things while we're gone. The cell phone App works great, as does the desktop PC client. So why only 4 stars? I have had a lot of difficulty with the most recent (this one) of the four linking up to my wifi. It was fail after fail after fail, reset, delete the App and try again, fail again, delete and reinstall the App for the second time, and finally get it to connect. I noticed that the firmware for this one offers a lot of really good stuff that the older cameras do not, so I'm thinking new generation equals new issues. And now a pretty substantial negative. I had connection issues, as I've already said, and then once connected and set up it seemed to have a mind of its own. I would aim it one way, close the App, and it would reset to wherever it had been pointing before I reset it. The only solution was to set it by hand where we wanted it to default to and hope for the best. I give Reolink's FIRST LEVEL Tech support a whopping one star. We went back and forth for over a week about this issue, and every time they wanted more information, gave me nothing to really try, and just asked questions. I cooperated, but was on the verge of sending it back when they escalated the issue to their upper level. To their credit, the Technician that caught the case provided me what turned out to be a simple two-step solution. All I had to do was restore the camera to its original settings. Which means basically starting over, but thank goodness it retained the wifi connection. I've been testing it all day and now it seems to work as it should. So the upper level support gets five stars, the lower level gets one star, and due to the connection issue I am only able to give this particular camera 4 stars.

Solar-Powered Flexibility with Clear Video, But Wi-Fi Needs Help
I’ve been using the Reolink 4K Solar Security Cameras for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m really happy with how flexible and easy they’ve been to install. Since my home gets solid sunlight in different areas, I was able to place these cameras in multiple outdoor spots without worrying about running power cables. The solar charging works impressively well — after a full day of sun, the battery charges quickly and can last up to 18–24 hours of continuous viewing. That’s a big plus for me, especially since I hate dealing with wires or frequent charging. The PIR motion sensors help conserve battery by keeping the camera mostly in sleep mode until movement is detected, which makes sense and works as expected. Video quality is definitely one of the highlights. The 8MP footage is sharper and more detailed than my old Ring Spotlight Cam, especially at night — the color night vision is a nice upgrade, making everything look more natural instead of just black and green. I can clearly see faces and car details, which matters to me for home security. Integration with Home Assistant has been smooth too; I can pull up live feeds, control the pan-tilt functions, and get alerts without relying on the Reolink app. Speaking of the app — it’s not perfect, but once you get used to it, it’s functional enough. I also connected mine to the Reolink Hub, which helps keep everything centralized and gives me local storage options, which I appreciate since there’s no subscription fee. My biggest issue has been Wi-Fi stability. Compared to my older Ring camera, this one struggles a bit on my main network, especially when the signal dips. I ended up having to buy a Wi-Fi 6 satellite (extender), which helped, but it’s a little annoying that I had to spend extra just to get a reliable connection. For a camera that’s already relying on solar power and wireless connectivity, solid Wi-Fi is kind of a must. That said, the trade-off is worth it for me — no monthly fees, great video, and the freedom to install them almost anywhere. If your Wi-Fi is strong, these would be a no-brainer. As it is, they’re a solid choice — just be ready to boost your network if needed.

Reolink solar
I recently installed a Reolink solar surveillance system, and I’ve got to say—it exceeded my expectations. The biggest advantage is the solar setup. Not having to run wires or worry about power sources makes installation simple and clean. Once it’s mounted, it pretty much takes care of itself. The battery stays charged, even with regular use, which is a huge plus. The video quality is solid—clear during the day and surprisingly sharp at night. Motion detection is responsive, and the alerts come through quickly without being overly sensitive to every little movement. I also posted a video so you can see the actual quality for yourself, along with the location where I mounted it. That way you get a real-world look at how it performs, not just specs on paper. Another thing I like is the app. It’s straightforward, easy to navigate, and lets you check your cameras anytime without any headaches. Setup was quick, and everything synced without issues. Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable, low-maintenance security system without dealing with wiring, Reolink is definitely worth it. It does exactly what you need it to do—set it up, and it just works.

Held up well over 3 years
We use 10 of these around the property, they have over several years proven to be very reliable, easy to manage, the app works well for remote access, in 2 of the remote locations a yagi antenna was added and they function 1200 ft away from the router, offering great coverage! Great product that has survived the elements well.

Excellent product
Completely impressed, uses wifi, clear image, live viewing from anywhere as long as wifi signal is available, we use it as a driveway announcer also, let's one know if the motion detected was a vehicle, person, or animal. Has been in operation for a few months now even past minus 20 degrees Celsius, always maintains battery via solar as it is in a remote location. No more surprise visits picks up the motion every time. Even if the wifi signal is lost, it will still record events to the SD card, which can be viewed once the wifi signal has been restored. Would recommend easy to setup as well. Nice app functionality.

Excellent camera
Excellent camera, was my first time buying this brand I will buy again. Picture is crisp and clear and the interface is easy to work with. The only issue I have is the installation. I think it's not properly secured with the twist lock method. That method can be easily tampered with or stolen by twisting it off and walk away

Can not go wrong
Impressive 4K security camera . Paired it with a 12 watt solar panel and was functional at -30c . Panel was keeping the camera charged well at extreme low temperatures.
