Plenty of Features โ Takes Time to Find What Works
I bought this hairdryer on sale โ it was still quite expensive, around ยฃ90, and the full price is even higher. I chose it because Philips is a trusted brand and I wanted to upgrade from my previous model, which was working fine but lacked advanced features like ionisation. My impressions are mixed. On the positive side: the dryer is lightweight, feels pleasant in the hand, and seems well-built. Both attachments are magnetic and rotate easily, which is great for adjusting airflow direction. It has multiple settings โ from gentle drying to very powerful airflow โ plus a cold shot. Thereโs definitely a lot of functionality, but it takes some trial and error to find the mode that suits your hair best. On the downside: there was no wow effect. The ionisation doesnโt perform any miracles. I havenโt used the volumising attachment at all. Compared to my old hairdryer, the difference isnโt dramatic. Also, the dryer is quite bulky โ not ideal for travel unless you have plenty of space in your suitcase. Overall: A solid product with lots of features and reliable quality. I think the results also depend on your brush, hair products, and technique โ itโs not a magic solution on its own. Still, itโs a good option if youโre looking for a well-made device with plenty of settings to choose from.

Used dryer instead of new - returned
Package was opened already, and the hair dryer was in use before, saw dust and even kind of mold (black dots) inside the dryer

Perfect until it stopped working
It was the best hairdryer I ever had. It dried hair so so quickly, literally within 2 minutes. And thenโฆ it stopped working (it stopped blowing), so Iโm returning it. Iโm extra mad because I bought it for ยฃ66 and now it costs ยฃ179โฆ not willing to pay so much for just a hair dryer.

Dries very quick
Very pleased with this dryerโฆgood to handle and easy controls.. I have very thick wavy hair so hair dryers tend to frizz.. but this hasnโt.. I think even my hair looks and feels better for it..

Paying for the badge.
Philips are a big brand and in todayโs market they, and other big brands, are being challenged by countless lesser-known manufacturers, who broadly speaking provide very similar products but for considerably less money. At time of review this Philips 7000 was discounted 50% for Prime Day, however its normal RRP is a whopping ยฃ180.00 which quite frankly is just ridiculous. What do you get for ยฃ180.00 over a non-branded dryer costing half the price and the answer is nothing much, if anything at all? This Philips should be a ยฃ90.00 hair dryer without discount and even at that price youโre not buying anything that performs or handles any better than what my wife has tried & tested around the ยฃ60 - ยฃ70 mark. The only reason I can see you spending this amount of money for this particular dryer is for brand reputation, build and warranty as the actual handling & performance isnโt really all that special? In short, youโre paying for the nameโฆ thatโs it! Iโve pictured the Philips next to my wifeโs PARWIN, which is a brand youโve probably never heard of? Itโs been her โdailyโ since she reviewed it around 3 months ago and despite testing many other dryers, with some costing over ยฃ200.00, no other (including this Philips) has tempted her away from it. The visual differences between the two are immediately obvious and yet despite its diminutive size, the PARWIN performs better, handles better, looks better and costs significantly less than the Philips. And thatโs the problem Philips have in pricing this hair dryer at ยฃ180.00โฆ itโs just really, really bad value for money. Even with its 50% discount itโs still expensive and it doesnโt perform or handle any better than cheaper options, albeit from lesser-known manufacturers. My wifeโs PARWIN retails for ยฃ110.00 and it too was discounted down to ยฃ76.00 for Prime Day, which is considerably less than this Philips. So unfortunately, I really canโt recommend this, purely from a value for money perspective, which is a shame as it looks very nice and seems well put together, using some good quality materials. It is from a trusted brand though so it should last a long time but itโs just a pity youโre paying such a premium for the Philips badge, when in use its no better than alternatives costing 50-60% less. The โsavvy shopperโ should really be looking at much cheaper alternatives long before they ever arrive at this Philps 7000.

Cool and hot
I like how it can switch hot and cold air fast on a button click. Hot option is not so hot which is nice because it will not damage the hair so much.
