There is misinformation being posted out there about ZMA and ZMA-5 containing oxide molecules The original ZMA formula created in 1996 has always been the exact same until this day. There have been no changes. Almost all zinc chelate products made use a starting material of zinc oxide. Then amino acids like mono-l-methionine and aspartate are chelated or "bonded" to the zinc molecules.  The oxide molecules are removed during the chelation process. The miniscule amount of zinc as oxide left is is about .1% or one tenth of one percent. This means that the zinc in ZMA and ZMA-5 is 99.9 percent bonded to the two amino acids. The effect of the .1% of oxide molecules that remain is close to zero.  The oxide is listed on the label for purposes of full disclosure.  Many companies fail to provide full disclosure. Hopefully this will provide some needed clarification for those who have been reading the misinformation that has been posted about ZMA.  Mineral oxides are poorly absorbed and that is the precise reason that 99.9% of the oxide molecules are removed during the manufacturing of ZMA. ZMA is a very high quality product made using an expensive proprietary manufacturing process
