Brilliant set of pots and pans!
I cook 3 meals a day at home; we very rarely eat out. That being said, my pots and pans get a LOT of use, and I expect a lot of them. I've also become very aware of the toxicity of Teflon, so I went on a mission to find a good set of stainless steel. This particular brand was mentioned on a trusted website because it is nickel-free. After reading tons of Amazon reviews, and also seeing that I had 1 month to try them out risk-free and a 6 year warranty on top of that, I decided to purchase this (very affordable) set. Before the set even arrived, I received an email from the company thanking me for my purchase. The email also gave me a rundown on how to properly care for the set in order to get the most out of them. When my set arrived, I was so pleased with how beautiful they are! The set of nickel-free utensils was definitely a perk. I immediately went to work on seasoning them, which took a little time, but was absolutely worth it. The next morning, I did the "scrambled egg test" on my small skillet. It worked like a dream! I preheated the pan on medium heat. When it started getting hot, I turned the burner down to a 4, and swirled a small amount of butter in the pan before adding my (room temp) scrambled eggs. They cooked quickly, and nothing stuck to the pan! After removing the eggs, I immediately washed the pan with only water and a wash cloth, dried with a towel, and put it away. I've done that several times now, and it still works great. Same goes for the pots. They cook and clean up like a dream. I am so glad I went with this set! Safe and effective!

Great quality control - no visible dents, or scratches - spotless
It's not too often I take time to write reviews, but I just unboxed my 14-piece cookware set and I have to say I am VERY impressed with quality control. I was a bit skeptical after reading a few reviews, and the cost of $99 for the set is cheap. They certainly aren't heavy weight, but they don't feel "cheap" either. I should probably wait until I use them, but I can't image them being worse than my 30 year old "stainless" set from Cuisinart, which contained nickel, and were non-magnetic.

A good quality, affordable stainless cookware set.
We were looking to replace some ageing cookware when the opportunity to test and review this Homi-Chef stainless set with utensils. The finish and overall appearance of the set is quite good at this price point. The choice of small, medium and larger sauce pans is helpful, as are the two skillets, it was also a bonus to have the addional utensils, which were a good quality addition to our cooking gadget drawers. We followed the instructions provided to season the new cookware, and it went well. Both skillets cooked well on the lower recommended heat settings, and the food we cooked did not stick, and clean-up was very easy. The care instructions provided are very good and I recommend you follow those closely. Cooking with stainless is so much different than using other types of cookware. We have several other Homi-Chef cookware items and they have held up well. We do cook quite a bit, and usually prepare larger amounts of food due to our family size. One concern I do have with the sauce pots is the time that it takes to boil a liquid. Using the recommended low heat settings a "4" on our electric range, it took 45 minutes to bring 2 quarts to a boil. This presents a challenge when cooking multiple items on the stove top and trying to coordinate finish times. I did finally have to turn up the heat to about "7" to get the water to a rolling boil. I have another Homi-Chef sauce pan that does heat much quicker. According to the care instructions, using higher heat can warp and damage the cookware, so I am not sure how to address this issue. We used the larger sauce pot to cook down green beans with salt pork, so the low heat and long cooking time yielded some very tasty beans. It has been a concern we have had cooking beans in a non-stick pot, usually simmering for 6+ hours. Otherwise I do recommend this set perhaps as a entry level set for a single or couple. Stainless cookware can be expensive when you get to the higher end professional quality items. It would be a good idea to start with something like this set as you learn the methods of taking full advantage of healthy cooking with stainless, and just how good food can taste when properly prepared with stainless cookware. Also, since we do usually cook larger amounts of food, this set would be best suited for a single or small family. I have been pleased with the Homi-Chef cookware that I do own and sincerely recommend that you give their products a try. Happy Cooking!

Great value and quality. Excellent customer service.
PROS: 1) Nickel free stainless steel. 2) Great value for the price. 3) Easy to clean. The picture I uploaded is a tofu scramble without any oil. Yes, you can do oil free cooking with stainless steel so long as you have enough moisture. I just made sure to add a small amount of water, kept it covered, and cooked it on medium low heat. And if you forget and accidentally burn your food (like I did with a subsequent cooking adventure), it cleans pretty easily. I just used some baking soda and a fresh scouring pad. NOTE: I didn't season the frying pans (as they recommend in the instructions) only because I don't use oil when I cook. So the frying pans still work well if you don't want to season [either because you avoid oil or because you don't feel like doing that step :) ]. 4) Fantastic customer service. This is refreshing because so many companies fail to respond or if they do the communication is subpar. I had a question and they responded promptly and politely. Very nice to deal with. 5) It's a small thing, but they provide detailed instructions for caring for your pots and pans. Quite helpful. CON: 1). The handles on the pot lids are designed in such a way that if you immerse the lid, water can get trapped between the lid and the handle. Not a huge problem because it was easy to loosen the screw enough to drain the water. Plus, that only happened when I soaked the entire lid, not when I did a normal soap and rinse. Can also probably be avoided by tightening the screws on the lid (just don't overdo it and break the glass). SUGGESTION: 1) A soup ladle would have been great, either in addition to or instead of one of the utensils already included.

Cook everyday in style and do so while preparing toxin free meals with stainless steel cookware
Me and my wife wanted to take steps towards a healthier lifestyle, which included moving away from Teflon coated cookware, leading us to purchase Homichef's stainless steel cookware. I'm pleased to say that after 30 days of constant use, these pots and pans are the best we've ever used. Below are the pros and cons me and my wife have settled upon: Pros: Price and quality. This cookware set looks and feels great! We were slightly discouraged when shopping for stainless steel cookware sets as some of them can be quite expensive. Homichef has made a product that is priced just right with exceptional quality. This cookware set is going to last a very long time. Look and feel. The cookware's mirror finish is perfect. We've had several comments and questions about the set when friends have come over. Homichef even provides a handful of polish packets to bring out the shine if they ever dull. The handle is also firm, doesn't feel or appear loose and never gets hot to the touch. Stick or non-stick. The pots and pans come with a set or recommended uses and guidelines on how to achieve non-stick cooking. Following these guidelines and suggestions provided have truly shown that these pans can be stick resistant. Any food that gets stuck on the pans can easily be brushed off using water and abdish rag or brush. Utensils. This set comes with stainless steel utensils, including 1 spatula that has a silicon flipper and a stainless steel body. The spatula works great with the exception of using the smaller skillet. The spatula itself is large and may be slight overkill when using the smaller skillet. But overall, the utensils are of a high quality. Cons. None. Takeaway: If you're looking for a stainless steel cookware set, look no further.

First use FAIL
I washed and seasoned the pans (follwed the the brochure exactly)and yet when i just boiled potatoes for my first time using the pot on medium low heat too (per instructions) i went to get out the potatoes and noticed the bottom had what i thought were silver stainless steel dots but after wiping them now it seems to be have turned white from silver (seemingly corroding after the very first use?) with permanent stains on it from the potatoes. I'm now afraid to eat the potatoes since something silver seemed to have come off of the pans and is now worn away and i can not het rid of it...& I am beyond disappointed because I spent 100 bucks in this economy because I need nickle free cookware but it failed first try...I should be able to at least boil potatoes, this is ridiculous!

Pots are great; poor construction on pot lids and utensils
First of all, there is absolutely no need to season stainless steel cookware. I don't understand the instructions telling the purchaser to season the pots. I'm using the pots without any issues of sticking. The lids and utensils all have a problem that is a quality issue. All the utensils have a sharp, unfinished edge to them. Also, the utensils have a handle that has a slot where water can enter when cleaning. If I use them I would possibly have soapy water dripping down into the bowls of the utensils from the handles. Every one of them is like this. And the lids have a knob handle in the center of the glass where water can enter. I washed them and as they were drying I noticed a pool of soapy water in the knob. My husband unscrewed the knobs, dried the water, and put it back together. Now I know I have to be careful when I wash the lids. I would totally return the set if it were not for the fact that I've switched to silicone utensils to solve my need to get away from nickel, and I will just wash the lids carefully so no water gets into that part of the lid. Buy this set for the pots, knowing the lids need special care when cleaning. And toss the utensils. You will love the pots.

No awful metallic taste, easy to clean with Barkeeper's Friend (though the company may say not to)
SO happy with these pans! NO awful "metallic" taste like the other stainless steel pans I bought before, that had nickel in them. The company makes a big deal about seasoning them (like how you would season cast iron) and makes it seem in the instructions like it is going to be a big deal to clean them and food will stick more than it does with other stainless steel, but I honestly don't find it to be any different in that regards. I initially seasoned one of the pans but then wanted to "wash" it, not just wipe it down, then I stopped seasoning it, and now I cook with an avocado oil spray that contains no propellant. I use Barkeeper's Friend to get the pans sparkling clean like new when needed, and so far (over the course of about 2 months) I don't see it has scratched them or caused any problems. The pans also come with several packets of a special cleaner (which I imagine is either like Barkeeper's Friend - a mild acid, or like a petroleum-based stainless steel cleaner, but I haven't opened any of the packs yet so don't know.) Overall I'm super happy with using these knowing it is far better for my health. The price is great considering all the pans and utensils that come with it. That said, it's weird that the company that makes these tells you to not use metal utensils on the pans but they include a whole bunch of metal utensils. So I've never used any of those and they are taking up space in my cupboard unneccessarily.

Godsend for allergy-sufferers
Homichef's cookware is a godsend for all nickel allergy sufferers. I've bought individual pots as well as their 14-piece cookware set from them and am very happy with the quality. I was hesitant about buying pans without a nonstick coating, but watched a video on how to use those without anything getting stuck and haven't had any issues whatsoever. I was also very pleased that a few nickel-free steel utensils are included in this set. After a minor issue with bits of food getting stuck under the rim of a couple of the glass lids I wrote to Homichef, and I can't praise their customer service enough. Super prompt and friendly replies, helpful advice (top tip: use a toothbrush for the rim of the lid if necessary), and a resolution I am very happy with. I can recommend this company and their products whole-heartedly.

Doesn't have any non-stick coating
I'm very disappointed with this set of frying pans and saucepans because it's impossible to fry any kind of food without it sticking. I was looking for a nickel-free set, and while this one meets that requirement, it doesn't have any non-stick coating. If I had known this beforehand, I wouldn't have bought it because it's completely useless.
