I'm size 12 1/2 which would be best 12 or 13?

You definitely want to round up to size 13. I’m size 10 and the size 10 ring is quite snug on my finger.

I am confused. Two descriptions, gold color stainless steel and gold plated. Which is it?

Well, I think it’s kinda the same thing. Different jewelry manufacturer's describe their goods differently. My ring is of very high quality, but it was described as gold plated. But I haven’t gone to a jeweler to validate that. The only guidance I’d offer, is don’t like for the gold content, look for the over look & quality of the ring. I’m very happy with mine.

How do I exchange for a smaller size?

I am 7.75 in ring size wich should i buy?

"Dear customer, If you measure your ring size at the jewel wtore, It's better for you to buy the size 8.If you want check it again, Please follow below video to double check your finger size. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UmqVefGT64 Then get the ring size chart from the product picture details."
