A: The original base can not be added the wheels. 
If you want to add wheels, you need to change the base,a suitable base with wheels for gas lift.

**Q: Are the base legs sharp? I'm not a big fan of sharp edges.**
A: They are somewhat.

**Q: can this be put in a car or taken apart easily to move to another location?**
A: It could be, but it something you wouldn't want to do often.

**Q: Are the seat linings washable? Like do they have zippers so that you can wash them in the washing machine**
A: No they are not

This chair is everything. If you're anything like me and need to put your legs up while you're sitting, this is your chair! I can sit cross legged no problem on this chair and it's super comfy. I wish the back was a tad bit higher but it works. Super easy to assemble and not that heavy.
