I did not buy this for camping, but for my kitchen when I just feel like using a smaller Nakiri. The joy for me is using my knives in all different sizes, and sometimes I like using the full size, other times the smaller one, so this is exactly what I needed, the bonus is, I CAN take it camping if we go because it folds, therefore is protected. I really needed something sharp, but manageable. I am a grandma. This knife folds down easily and I keep it for cutting pretty much anything. I thought I just wanted it for the kitchen only because none of my kitchen knives were sharp anymore so I cut meat and vegetables I also cut a random things like plastic and paper.
