A great cookbook that keeps you going back for more inspiration
Having had this book for a few weeks now I've had chance to try many of the recipes. Although I'm a collector of cookbooks there are few which I go back to on multiple occasions but this is one of them. A special aspect of the book is the stories of the contributors and how they have grown their businesses with the help of Samuel Adams' Brewing the American Dream. When searching out things to make it's fun to read the bios scattered throughout the book. My favorite recipes? Where to start...? Of course there's the Ginger-HoiSin Ribs (p.126), the Beef Chili (p.85), the Green Curry Chicken (p.119), and my all-time favorite meat lamb in the Lamb Lollipops recipe (p.132). The Focaccia (p.58) although it takes some planning is the best I've had outside of Italy, and the Pickled Green Tomatoes (p.162) are delicious. As with any culinary experience there are some surprises - a Vegan Shepherd's Pie (not sure if the shepherd was vegan as well as the pie!) (p.125) was a complete eye-opener as I didn't miss the meat, the Grilled Shrimp (p.143) and the Pasta with Creamy Vodka Sauce (p.138) which we made with friends and was almost vacuumed from the plates, the Sweet Potato Pie (p.206) which had me going for seconds even though I don't usually eat sweets, and finally the addictive OFD Cookies (p.190) should be renamed OMG Cookies! Again I'm not a sweets person but even I had to make an exception in the case of these cookies. Some of the contributions contain beer but many do not, however it's always good to have your favorite to hand whilst perusing the book for inspiration, cooking your favorites in the kitchen, and sitting down to eat with your family and friends. Many of these recipes are rapidly becoming favorites in our house and I'm sure they will in yours. Even if your kitchen bookshelf is small this cookbook will earn its place, although it is likely to spend more time open on the counter than on the shelf!

Authentic modern American craft cooking
I think Our American Dream Cookbook is wonderful! It’s a celebration of modern American cooking - long overdue - and a celebration of the talented and savvy young chefs who create it. The visionary authors, Jennifer Glanville Love and Jim Koch, and the Salty Days publishing team must be celebrated too for a beautifully made book. The craft of modern cooking, the craft of publishing and the craft beer renaissance led by Samuel Adams Brewing are perfectly matched. They have created a revelation for us all to enjoy. So for details, where to start? The recipes, of course. And they’re brilliant! Clearly described and accessible to everyone, from simple and quick to rich and well-crafted, the straightforward instructions are so well written they’ll make your mouth water before you begin. Photographs are so ‘right’ you can almost taste them. My favourite recipes? It’s hard to choose but I keep coming back to these Top Ten: Pizza Eggrolls; Smoked Salmon Pinwheels With Pickles; Crab Fritters with Boston Lager; Vegan Shepherd's Pie; Meatballs With Mushroom Beer Sauce; Jamaican Jerk Chicken; Ginger Steamed Fish With Porter; Sweet Potatoes With Hot Pepper Brown Butter; Mascarpone Raspberry Cheesecake; Chocolate Block Sheet Cake. As a brilliant bonus, which doubled my enjoyment, the book includes profiles of some of the enterprising chefs and food suppliers, and I found this fascinating. It shows how much care and attention they devote to their work. In contrast to impersonal mass-produced food and drink, these portraits of the real people who provide real food is inspired, and inspiring. You can imagine them in your kitchen with you as you cook. Our American Dream Cookbook truly proclaims the craft of cooking and the very best ways to enjoy it.

Stunning cookbook
As a collector of cookbooks and former professional chef, I am particular when it comes to cookbooks. Our American Dream meets every one of my cookbook needs, including stunning photography (that actually matches the recipe!), accurate recipes, clear and clean formatting, and logical flow throughout the book. My favorite part are the stories included with each recipe, telling you about the American entrepreneurs that partnered with Jennifer in the making of the book. I love the stories! Well done! I am happy to recommend this cookbook to chefs of all skill levels.

LOVE THIS COOKBOOK!
Not only is it a beautiful book (photography is stunning) the variety of recipes are incredible. I love reading the stories about the businesses and have already purchased some products from them. I made a few recipes so far and can’t wait to make more. Kudos to Sam Adams for their support for these entrepreneurs and bringing their stories to life.
