## Overview

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana - D1 Refined Edition for Nintendo Switch is a remastered classic action RPG featuring enhanced visuals, multiple soundtrack options, and new voice acting. The package includes exclusive physical collectibles, making it a must-have for fans and newcomers alike.

## Description

When redheaded thrill-seeker Adol Christin and his eternal blue-haired companion Dogi make an unannounced visit to Dogi's homeland of Felghana after an eight-year absence, it quickly becomes apparent that things have changed dramatically. Hordes of violent monsters roam the outskirts of town, a long-dormant volcano has suddenly sprung back to life and the new lord of the land has begun mercilessly and inexplicably extorting money from its long-suffering citizens. While Dogi seeks out his former combat master for answers, Adol tends to the townsfolk -- and finds himself embroiled in a world of political conspiracies, ancient legacies and unthinkable taboos. Originally conceived as a reimagining of the 16-bit console classic Ys III: Wanderers From Ys, this fan-favorite entry returns, newly remastered for the Nintendo Switch system as Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana. Nearly 15 years after its previous release, longtime fans can look forward to numerous improvements and upgrades, including an all-new voiceover for legendary protagonist, Adol Christin. With remastered high-definition visuals and music, the epic adventure has never looked or sounded better. Additional features include multiple versions of the sweeping soundtrack, accessibility options, and brand-new character illustrations, making Ys Memoire the definitive edition of the acclaimed masterpiece. 1 Player.

Review: A great remaster of a great remake! - If you want to play Oath in Felghana on your switch, this is it. I loved Oath in Felghana, and Ys Origins (also available for Switch! Cheap digitally, not too bad physically while supplies are still out there too), and my favorite Ys game ever is Ark of Napishtem which was on the same engine. I hope Napishtem comes to Switch soon too. Movement and combat in Oath of Felghana are constant and fluid. Magic is a fast-recovering resource that you're encouraged to use freely once you obtain it. Boss fights are challenging and always involved finding the patterns - the thinking in them reminds me of Mega Man boss fights as the series progressed in some ways, always some unique element to the fight to learn. Gameplay is mostly hack-and-slash between bosses, but the pace is very quick. You don't have to grind excessively, but you can choose to grind and there are convenient areas near healing save point statues seemingly made for it, a nod to the difficulty perhaps as minor improvements to stats can bring very large payoff in terms of reducing enemy and boss damage coming in and increasing your damage going out. The overall package was really cool here, too, with a gameplay manual that reminded me of the good old days before those mostly went away, and a nice soundtrack too, and some other goodies. Neat!
Review: Like the PSP version but much better - As someone who has played the PSP version back in safely, say this is a perfect rendition of that game, it moves a lot smoother than the original, and the quality has fastly improved, not to mention this one while having full English voice acting also has full Japanese voice acting, and there are better details so what you saw on a small PSP screen is fastly bigger and you see better details (for example I thought the first boss was a sort of gargoyle, and I’m half right it was a gargoyle, but I thought it was a ugly one not one that looked like an anguished maiden, which shows the details that were lost on the small PSP screen have vastly improved on the switch screen) Another thing is that the difficulties I have remained the same and so has the consistency so if you want to grind, you’re going to have to grind and if you wanna play on the hardest level, just beware you’re in for a challenge

## Features

- Experience old-school action RPG combat with added difficulty and enhancements like “Turbo” mode, as you fight your way through a fantasy world
- All-new “Refined” character illustrations throughout the game, but players who want the original experience can switch to the “Classic” versions too
- Newly recorded voice acting for Adol Christin, including an opening narration that sets the stage for adventure, & gives new depth and gravity
- This version features 3 different iterations of the epic score (Original, PC-8801, and X68000) for players to choose from
- Includes a soundtrack CD, an acrylic diorama/keychain set, a set of four postcards, & a screen cleaner cloth with the game in a custom box

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow - Amazing Game, Amazing Package!
*by R***I on February 13, 2025*

I'm a newcomer to the Ys series, but liked the look of this one, so went out on a limb and bought it. HUGE WIN... this game is incredibly fun and the soundtrack is amazing. Then there's the value-added package. This isn't a collector's edition or anything... this is the baseline packaging. The included trinkets are cool, but the big win is the CD soundtrack it comes with. Hooked on Ys now, looking forward to more!!
