My peel has a tag which states it was made in Thailand. It is interesting to note that Ironwood and Acacia are two distinctly different species. Perhaps in some local culture the Acacia is referred to as Ironwood?

I don't think it is too rough. Like you said, you could always re-sand it. I use mine mostly for making our own pizza, so I guess we use it about once a week, maybe once every two weeks. It is a nice product though.

Q: Does the 14 x 14 measurement include the handle, or is this the measurement of the board only?

The whole paddle is 14 X14. The handle is another 5.5 inches

Q: Are your wood products sourced from FSC Certified forests, or with some other sustainable certification?

No. The Ironwood Gourmet website only states, "products are made with environmentally-friendly and renewable material". Sounds nice, but it's an empty statement.
