I recently tried Baruvida Baru Nuts and was thoroughly impressed. These Brazil nuts offer a delightful crunch with a refreshing lemony zest that is both unique and delicious. I was excited to try this new-to-market kind of nut — a central South American wild tree nut or legume called the baru nut — but didn't find the flavor anything too exciting. They're large ovoid nuts that seem a bit over-roasted, with a just slightly burnt edge to the flavor, and a very basic, peanut-like taste. The "zesty lemon" coating has a bit of salt, a nice dose of sour, and a small touch of chili spice, which enhances the overall flavor, but the nuts themselves are really nothing to write home about, nor would I go out of my way to reorder. They're an interesting curiosity but not really preferable to any other more commonly available snack nut.

This is my first time trying Baru nuts so I wasn’t sure what to expect. These Baruvida Baru Nuts came in zesty lemon flavor, which is an interesting choice. First thing I noticed is this is a pretty small bag of nuts, the bag being no larger than my hand but with a smaller amount inside. The nuts are in several different colors but they are all very sticky to touch. I don’t know if that is true for all baru nuts or just because these have a lemon flavor added to them. The lemon flavor smacks you right in the mouth; initially it is strong and sour, but it does seem to work okay with the nuts and the lemon punch is brief. After the lemon taste the nut itself reminded me of eating sunflower seeds. They seem to be fresh and have a long shelf life. They taste good and I like grabbing a couple every now and then to snack on. They are really expensive in my opinion but they are good tasting nuts.

I did not care for these nuts at all. I just stick with my almonds and cashews.

I had never heard of baru nuts, but since I love most types of nuts when I saw these I gave them a try. They are about the size of an almond and have an outer layer that is similar to the skin on a peanut. These baru nuts are coated with a zesty lemon flavoring. You get the lemon and salt flavor as soon as you pop one into your mouth. When you chew the nut the flavor is something like a mix of peanuts, cashews, and sunflower seeds and I like them. Baru nuts are very nutritious providing many antioxidants along with fiber, vitamin E, magnesium, potassium, iron, and zinc.

I was excited to try thes nuts as I am a true nut lover, Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans, Macadamia. I havent tried a nut I didnt like. I read up on these and were excited that they were closely related to Brazil nut, my all time favorite, unfortunately these are no brazil nut. Much drier texture and the lemon flavor leaves them a bit to be desired. I ma not sure if the lemon flavor is natural or something they coat the nut with? Not a fan of the flavor, maybe plain wouold be better. I know they are super healthy just not great for snacking. I wont let them go to waste I will throw them in smoothies or maybe a salad for now. Give tham a try just not for me.

When they say Zesty Lemon, they mean it! These things are very lemony!!! I almost feel like they need some kind of other flavor profile to go with the lemon, but the flavor is not bad as is. This was my first time trying Baruka nuts so I was really excited. They kinda reminded of a huge peanut, but with a slight smoked or roasted flavor. They are very crunchy in texture. Visually: they look exactly like the picture that's on the bag. They do come in a resealable bag - which is nice! I'm pretty pleased with them and would definitely order again.

I wanted to try these nuts because I'd never heard of Baru Nuts before. I found the texture really odd. The flavor was OK but less zesty than I expected for zesty Lemon. The nutrition list was good, though, so I'll recommend you try them and see if the texture doesn't bother you. Eating experience is highly subjective so don't take my 3 star experience to be what your experience may be. Try for yourself. Price is pretty high for 3.9 oz or just under $44 per pound.
