TRG Easy Dye for Leather and Canvas Shoes and Accessories (117 - Navy Blue)

This product is amazing on canvas shoes. I brought a faded pair of Vans back to life! The AI question search on the Amazon product page suggested I might want to dilute the product 50/50 with water when applying to canvas. The recommendation seemed reasonable, so I gave it a try. I used a thin art paintbrush that was about a quarter inch wide to apply the product, which was key so I didn’t get die on some areas of the shoes. The product went on easily and died and died very evenly, even though I made little effort to apply it evenly. The product dried quickly, which made it easy to hold the shoe in one hand and apply the product with a brush with the other hand while sitting down. I will admit that it took a while using a small brush, but the results were well worth it!

This has always been one of my all time favorite purses. Coach discontinued it years ago. The only signs of wear were the straps; the silver was really starting to turn and literally come off of the handles & the shoulder strap. I had tried shoe polish but could never match it (was originally a pewter color). I finally ordered this dye which was the color I would have preferred Coach used to begin with and I couldn’t be happier. There are some reviews talking about it being too thin. Either they didn’t read the instructions or they don’t know what they’re talking about...it’s thin because it’s dye, not paint or polish. I did have to apply 3 coats and I let each one dry before applying the next. After 5 hours I buffed and it looks great! I can carry it for NYE again!!!

I put this on fake leather sandals. I ordered navy blue and at first it went on like a peacock green. I put three coats. Dry time between coats was maybe an hour. I used a foam craft type brush from the art store, but it came with a small foam block. Overall it covered well and the color is correct in the end, but it looks plasticky and I am afraid it will rub off on my feet. I would recommend this for a shoe instead of a sandal. I used less than half a jar. For a boot I think you probably need two jars. Will update once worn.

This stuff is pure magic! I have a red dress that I've been looking for red heels to match. I've tried many different heels and none were the right shade of the dress. I decided to dye a pair of gold glitter heels I had to match it. I am beyond pleased and impressed with the result. I went into this with the expectation of me ruining these heels. I didn't know how well the shoes would take with them being glitter. They took super well. Product is simple to use, application went very smooth. Dries quickly. Very little wait time between coats. I did three coats to achieve this deepness of red. Dries extremely clean, each coat dried smooth and even. I used the 156 - Morello Cherry. I attached pictures of inside, with and without flash, and outside to capture inside lighting and natural lighting to compare the shade of red of the dress to the shoes. Each type of lighting the shoes shade stayed consistent and true. I also attached a before and after close up of the heels, and a comparison of the dye to the dress. Extremely happy! Super highly recommend and will absolutely be purchasing this product again for any other shoe dye needs!

This is not a leather dye. It is a leather paint, and it does not adhere. Scrubbed the Coach sky-blue handbag with saddle soap. Rinsed it off. Several days of drying time. Applied the sky-blue dye, which wasn't close to the Coach color. Several days of drying time. The sky-blue had gotten on the brown trim. I taped off the leather to protect it from the brown dye for the trim. Used artist tape, the kind used on paper. That was when I learned the dye was only a paint. I readjusted the tape and discovered it pulled off the color that had gotten on the trim as well as the color that was where it was supposed to be. Since it looked so awful, I used the artist tape to remove the sky-blue dye.

I like the color of this product and was working great for a while, then just yesterday shaking it up to mix it and the bottom broke off and paint went everywhere!! Ruined my jeans and a few spots on my Harley Davidson shirt! I'll be lucky if I get the paint out of the concrete garage floor! And I didn't even get to finish my project im working on. And now I have paint blobs on my leather project and been working on it for a few days now. But you can see how great it might be when I finally get it done. Hopefully when I order new bottle it won't do that to me again, or I'll just stir it this next go round.

My well loved briefcase was looking pretty tired and worn. I love this bag which is why I haven't sacked it before now. I ordered the TRG dye in red, followed the instructions, and I'm really impressed with the results. The red leather had gone a little orange in some areas and there were minor scuffs. Let me say that I do think this is a topical dye that just evens out an existing color. Don't know that it could actually change a color. Just enhances (but wonderfully so!) I am going to try it on a pair of shoes that need refreshing. So far the color has not come off on my hands (from the handles) or on my clothes. Nice sheen to the product too. Will buy their other products before any others.

I was extremely pleased with how well it covered the old color. It made an older pair of shoes look brand new. Very easy to follow directions and with being careful not to get it on other areas not to be covered, I did manage to get a little of it on the the rubber sole. Discovered that if you used a wet paper towel right away, that it cleaned it off. Wish I had taken a before and after picture to show.

One small bottle was enough for a pair of medium sized Uggs. Easy and fast to apply with the brush. Picture doesn’t do it justice (left is the one I dyed, and right was how they looked before colouring). Colour is a nice deep navy. This is just one coat, and I have enough for another coat. They now look like new, still soft. I’ll be interested to see how it lasts.
