Really great oil.
So soothing and moisturizing. The smell is earthy and takes a bit to get used to but is well worth it.

My spa time.
Good quality. I do not like the smell , ( they have unscented) but I have an in depth understanding through yoga training that this is what the herbs - that I need - smell like. I am almost 100% Vata ( my dosha is primarily Vata with some pitta ) this oil is perfect. When I sauna or have time I cover myself from scalp to toes for an hour or much more. I ALWAYS wash this out though. I leave the unscented on. I’m so dry ( Vata ) it just soaks in. I’m 53 and I feel like it gives my hair and skin a healthy glow.

Very nice massage oil
I bought this for my very dry skin and because I'm a Vata in Ayurveda. It has a lovely scent and it's nice warmed up before applying. As a nice bedtime ritual, I apply it to my feet before bed (I wear socks so as to not stain my sheets).

Works great, but I have one suggestion...
This is a wonderful oil for scalp and hair and has great ingredients. BUT.... it smells like.... hmmmm.... don't quite know how to describe it. Some sort of strong sour chinese food. I am assuming it's the sesame oil. I understand that it's better to leave an oil intact so it has all the nourishing qualities in it. It just makes it harder for me to use because of the smell. I only use it an hour or so before I wash my hair. I don't want to walk around smelling this way. But please...don't let this detract you from purchasing this oil. It's EXCELLENT oil. If they were to refine the sesame oil, I'd change this to a 5 star rating. I don't think they will, though, because lots of people have complained and they haven't changed it yet. I love Banyan products, though.... I use a LOT of them. ♥

Good stuff
My second purchase, I am hooked on it now. I mix it with dashmool oil. Scent is definitely hippy dippy yoga but that’s probably right up your alley if you’re thinking of buying this and it *mostly* washes off in the shower. Apply, let soak in for as long as possible then dry brush before a shower or bath. Good stuff.

Works amazing and smells good!
I’ve used other banyan oils and I was excited this was catered to my dosha type. Use it from head to toe, my skin has never been so smooth!

Nourishing, smells fine
I love this vata pacifying massage oil. I used to buy from Sarada and I still like quality (types of herbs, # of herbs, process, etc.) and smell of their oil way better, but sadly they are not shipping to the US anymore. This oil smells fine. It does smell earthy and I get a little "salty" smell, but it's generally pretty neutral and not overly anything. These qualities are all things are good for vata, so I don't understand why people are complaining about the smell so much. :)
