I am a language teacher, and these sets are the best if you want to really learn the language, not just some handy phrases. I used their records in the 50s, and have tried other systems since, but have always come back to Living Language, still the best, in my opinion. Just came back from a trip where i shopped, went to the doctor and the pharmacy, hired cabs, listened to tour guides, read maps and signs, and never felt lost. the dialogues are interesting and funny, the written exercises really good, the reference sections complete, and the approach to grammer never overwhelming but accurate - I really had FUN learning German! And you learn about daily life and German society as well

My wife is Chinese and she has just noticed that it is useful for her. There are many ESL books out there but, not many of them help a person to begin learning English. This company has a website with exercises and practice sessions. I checked out some of their other tools for learning. It is really good that walmart, Barnes & Nobel and Amazon carry this language learning set. If you are Chinese trying to learn English this will help you because it is geared towards the Chinese people. Be sure to use the website with it .

Good concept but it needs to be updated. A good instructor by the student’s side could really throw some light on some of the grammar exercises.

I just got this book and I’m in love, I can’t wait to finish it. It seems to cover everything from basic levels to advanced. Will update this review when I’m done.

Easy to follow. Love listening to the CDs in the car. Common sense dialogues. I already have some knowledge of the language, but I binged on this before going to Italy for vacation, and it TRULY gave me increased confidence in communicating with the locals. Best bargain at an excellent price.

I was kinda worried because I’m the comments about it the impression seemed to be given that it was only a book or cds but I decided to trust the description and everything is included as advertised.
