This stool is designed for use in wet areas, but another function for which I use it is as an aide to get into bed. I recently had heart surgery and ordered this stool to assist me with safely getting in and out of bed. It has done so without fail. I have stood in the middle and on the sides and this step stool did not move, tip to the side - or anything! Upon first using it, my aide assisted me in case it moved or I needed help, but it soon became apparent this stool does not move and is very balanced and sturdy. It remains firmly in place until we move it. It comes in one piece - thankfully. The only thing to add to the stool are the small round rubber inserts that go inside the small holes underneath the stool to prevent it from moving. That's it! It's not a high stool which matters a lot to those whose legs are weak. Overall I think this is a fantastic step stool, and it became available at a time when I really needed something like this. My aunt-in law has so much trouble getting into my husband's SUV that this was the perfect solution to helping her get passed a few inches to get into the car easily. Take note of the dimension and do remember this is very sturdy, very easy to carry and move around, and made of great materials. I highly recommend this to assist in reaching things just out of reach.

My wife is on the short side and often complains about her feet not quite hitting the floor when she sits at her desk. Recent knee replacement surgery exacerbated the problem and I decided to find a solution for her. The Strongtec Half Step Stool was just what we needed. It is just the right height to plant her feet firmly on the floor and the grippy, non-slip top keeps her feet from sliding off, especially when she pushes her chair back from the desk. She also uses the step to reach items on higher shelves that are just out of her reach. The step is light enough for her to be able to carry it easily but is plenty strong. Further, the nonslip feet on the bottom keep it solidly in one place so she can use it without fear of it moving. Overall, an ideal solution for her problem.

This product delivers what it promises. It is a wide platform, completely non-slipping with the rubber inserts in the bottom, and a top that can drain in wet conditions and the white cover removed for better cleaning. It is half-step height, which means to me this is more of an aid to the unstable than a step stool. I just put it under my computer desk for a little elevation of my legs, and I'll keep it handly for elderly or infirm situations. I might order this vendor's full step stool also for reaching conditions. The stool is a little pricey but a very useful and well-made product!

This makes our lives safer; we have a 6-inch step down into our family room and it was sometimes more difficult than others. At our age, 70's, we appreciate that this cuts the step in half and makes it easier and safer for us to step into our family room. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is older or that has a child learning to make steps up and down. Made very well and feels very strong underfoot, the little feet keep it from scratching our wood floor.

The surface of the step is different to other similar steps but the construction looks exactly the same as other similar steps. I'm not sure that it's twice as good as it's almost twice the price. It's also smaller than similar steps. I could only recommend it if you need a smaller size step. Seems over priced for what it is.
