In-depth review *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2020* So I do work on many of my friends Harley’s as well as mine. Lots of my buddies have brought me “horn set ups” to install for them. I have done Rivco, Lasco, Metal Art, and Kleinn horns. Frankly the Rivco is a very well made unit but sounds really “strange”. It is at a much higher pitch and sounds a bit silly. Looks good and seems well made and it Has horn covers which is a must for longer life. Metal Arts made an outstanding horn, sadly as far as I know they are no longer made. Lasco horns are frankly....simply trash! We come to Kleinn hog kits. Nice kit with outstanding directions. There is an excellent how too on UTube but it is very dated as there have been many up grades since that video was made. You will find there are many vibration damping washers to help keep down vibrations In the past the trumpets tended to crack or break due to those constant vibrations. You use the Harley cow bell “waterfall” horn cover to add to the “Factory” look. I will start with the wiring set up. Frankly I have never seen a more simple system. If you can remove your seat and find your battery then you can do the wiring. Frankly I would opt for heat shrink connections and heat shrink solder connector. Much more dependable. Anyway you can’t miss with the electrical wiring and everything you need is available to you I. This kit. Now to the putting together the hardware. I won’t lie to you there are some modifications you will need to do. One is a fairly simple enlargement of hole in horn cover, a drill or file can do the job. You will also need to make some modifications on bolts (longer) at least one, some adjustments of compressor in bell. Just a few but nothing serious. Takes me around 45 minutes to hour and half. The horn sounds more like a train horn than any other currently on the market. Also the loudest horn Available and made specifically for a motorcycle. I see some of these reviews that complain about sound being weak or couple seconds delay. Folks that all relates to how you have wired your set up. You wire it as instructed on directions and have a fully charged battery, you will get a horn that will get through music, day dreaming, or texting. So, my pick out of what is available is the Kleinn hog kit for Harley owners, particularly touring bikes. This is an honest review from a fellow Harley owner.Just one more thing. Since the Hog Kit comes with no cover for trumpets, the day will come when water or rocks or a big June bug will damage or crack one of the plastic membranes. This will screw up the sound or cancel it out all together. I use a velocity stack debris/water screen. They fit perfectly over the outer rim of the horn. Amazon sells a 3.5 inch cover that works perfect. Just secure it with a zip tie. I will say it invisible on the black model and not too noticeable on the chrome model. Hope this in depth review was helpful to you in making your decision. Truly if you are the least bit handy with tools and have a few tools handy (they actually give you the list of the tools needed) you can do this. Don’t be scared of the wiring, they give you everything and it’s all together. You can go on utube to see how to put on connectors and butt connectors for the wiring. Again a very easy process. Remember the whole issue here is to ride safe and getting people’s attention is 90% of your safety.RIDE SAFE! ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars A pain to install. Broken and missing hardware. *by D***D on Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2022* First I have to admit I haven’t finished the install because I might return this horn. The one size fits all didn’t mean my scoot. 2020 HD Street. I started installing this in December but had to wait to get a broken piece for the compressor replaced. Started back at it this week. I mounted the relay behind the battery as shown in their instructions and assembled the horn. This meant going to the local hardware store to get bolts that were the correct size. Temporarily mounted the horn and started the wiring. Problem was the ground wire wouldn’t reach the battery terminal. Off to the local hardware store for wire and waterproof splices. Got back, spliced the ground. I went to connect the compressor and found out those leads are 6” short! Trying to get a different relay now because I don’t have any other location for the relay. Not all of the hardware that you need comes with the kit. So plan on a few trips to your local, really expensive, hardware store.
