Portable AM/FM Transistor Radio with Loud Speaker, Battery or USB Powered

I purchased this portable radio as a gift for my father, and he absolutely loved it. He uses it every day to listen to music, the news, and his favorite radio programs, and it has quickly become one of his favorite gifts. The radio receives AM, FM, and shortwave stations clearly, and the telescopic antenna provides excellent reception. The sound quality is impressive for such a compact device, producing clear, enjoyable audio. I also like how simple it is to use. The large tuning dial and straightforward controls make it especially convenient for older adults. The rechargeable battery and USB charging option are additional features that make it even more practical. Overall, this is a reliable, well-made radio with excellent sound quality and reception. It made a wonderful gift, and seeing my father enjoy it every day makes me even happier with this purchase.

Been using it for approx. 1 month. Getting good reception. Nice size. Audio is clear. Not sure what is on shortwave radio (BBC, et al?) but AM/FM work well. I am generally within 20-50 miles of AM stations and can listen to channels I want. Price was reasonable. I like the rechargeable battery. Better than the cheaper pocket transistor radios I have bought from Amazon in past.

***** I've had it with complicated click sequences & Short-press/Long-press stuff. No more ! ***** At last: a small, uncomplicated, easy to use radio with sufficient volume for group situations. What it has: (1) An 18650 Lithium Ion rechargeable battery. The 18-inch charging cable is USB-A at one end and USB-C at the other. In an emergency, I can easily swap the battery out for a fresh one or else charge it from a power bank. (2) Great Sound. It's crystal clear when I get it smack on the station. Also, it can be LOUD and easily heard by a group of people. (3) Small & Lightweight. Can easily fit in a tote or backpack. (4) Shortwave people will have to weigh in on antenna quality but for me, in a major city, it's plenty good enough. What it doesn't have: (1) No light on the radio. Fine. Headlamps are always better. (2) No headphone jack. This is a room radio not a pocket radio. (3) Analog Tuning Knob. Fine. Your fingers work and you didn't have to memorize 20 different frequencies. Looks good, sounds fine. We wanted an extra radio in the event of an emergency. However, this radio does Not have a normal battery... was surprised by this. Nice USB plug cord included. Seems to work, but I have no idea where to get a replacement battery for this radio.

This radio is good for people that don’t want digital station settings. It has excellent sound, multiple bands (AM FM Short Wave x2) and a rechargeable battery. You can connect it to your phone charger with USB-A connector to charge the battery or just run off the charger. It’s also priced very reasonably at about $20.

Works great, easy to operate and static free. All sounds are clear. Really good value for a radio. Would recommend to anyone.

I bought it Dec. 30, 2025, it lasted less than 6 months. A waste of money. Even when it did work it was only marginal, but it stopped working completely.

Overall, this is a great little radio. I wanted a small radio (4" x 6" x 2") that was also fat enough so it wouldn't tip over easily. Reception is good for AM and FM. The tuning bar is reasonably close to the number that you are aiming for (but as with all analog dials, you have to go back and forth to find it usually). As others have noted, the volume thumb dial goes from zero to loud. It is pretty tricky to play it quietly. But what is most annoying is that both knobs are backwards! I think it's a Chinese thing. Instead of turning the tuner knob CLOCKWISE to go UP the dial, it goes down! And instead of using your thumb to push the volume wheel UP to make it louder, you have to push it down! This is quite hard to get used to. I have to mentally remind myself "Do the opposite of what your instinct says." Too bad the Chinese didn't get the message that in America, it works opposite.

Radio reception is ok. Price of this on Amazon is higher side. Build Quality of product is good. However, future offers in this radio is limited.
