Portable AM/FM Transistor Radio with Loud Speaker, Battery or USB Powered

I really like this little radio. I read other reviews that were possitive. Excellent sound quality and reception - no crackling or interference whatsoever. I don't have to turn the volume dial up much to hear well outside while doing yard work and gardening. Battery life is also exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this small portable radio. I recommend purchasing this 100%.

Been using it for approx. 1 month. Getting good reception. Nice size. Audio is clear. Not sure what is on shortwave radio (BBC, et al?) but AM/FM work well. I am generally within 20-50 miles of AM stations and can listen to channels I want. Price was reasonable. I like the rechargeable battery. Better than the cheaper pocket transistor radios I have bought from Amazon in past.

great performance, compact, has emergency bands my other radio does not have

Overall, this is a great little radio. I wanted a small radio (4" x 6" x 2") that was also fat enough so it wouldn't tip over easily. Reception is good for AM and FM. The tuning bar is reasonably close to the number that you are aiming for (but as with all analog dials, you have to go back and forth to find it usually). As others have noted, the volume thumb dial goes from zero to loud. It is pretty tricky to play it quietly. But what is most annoying is that both knobs are backwards! I think it's a Chinese thing. Instead of turning the tuner knob CLOCKWISE to go UP the dial, it goes down! And instead of using your thumb to push the volume wheel UP to make it louder, you have to push it down! This is quite hard to get used to. I have to mentally remind myself "Do the opposite of what your instinct says." Too bad the Chinese didn't get the message that in America, it works opposite.

***** I've had it with complicated click sequences & Short-press/Long-press stuff. No more ! ***** At last: a small, uncomplicated, easy to use radio with sufficient volume for group situations. What it has: (1) An 18650 Lithium Ion rechargeable battery. The 18-inch charging cable is USB-A at one end and USB-C at the other. In an emergency, I can easily swap the battery out for a fresh one or else charge it from a power bank. (2) Great Sound. It's crystal clear when I get it smack on the station. Also, it can be LOUD and easily heard by a group of people. (3) Small & Lightweight. Can easily fit in a tote or backpack. (4) Shortwave people will have to weigh in on antenna quality but for me, in a major city, it's plenty good enough. What it doesn't have: (1) No light on the radio. Fine. Headlamps are always better. (2) No headphone jack. This is a room radio not a pocket radio. (3) Analog Tuning Knob. Fine. Your fingers work and you didn't have to memorize 20 different frequencies. Bottom Line: I'm delighted. ** NERTs = Neighborhood Emergency Response Team ** CERTs = Community Emergency Response Team

This radio exceeded my expectations! The dial is sufficient in size so I can easily tune in to 98.1 or 98.5 fm and hear each of them clearly. I like the rechargeable lithium battery so no cord is necessary when I’m using the radio.

Good radio soooooooo small which is just what we needed good sound quality. But sometimes it will turn off and won't turn back on but it will with lots of cord juggling. Very loud

I bought this radio mainly for emergencies and occasional use, and in that sense, it did what I needed. It’s compact, easy to use, and at first the signal quality was pretty good. Overall, I found it useful and it definitely solved my immediate need. However, after about a month of use, I started noticing a decline in sound quality. When I turn up the volume, the signal tends to fade and becomes less clear. Another downside is the battery life, which doesn’t last long and requires frequent recharging. In summary, it’s a product that can be helpful in certain situations or for occasional use, but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who plans to use it every day. It gets the job done, but it has its limitations

Radio reception is ok. Price of this on Amazon is higher side. Build Quality of product is good. However, future offers in this radio is limited.

Good

I love it. Small in size but really loud. Good price.

Se descompuso en días!

Clear, crisp sound and high volume output in a compact size. However, the rechargeable battery died after three months and now it only works on mains power.
