Electric Heated Blanket, Twin/Full, Brown, Flannel & Sherpa, 62" x 84"

I had a bad flu and the chills were awful! I ordered this blanket and it arrived as I was just getting better, I didn't get to use it much but then winter came and this was the only blanket I had on alllll winter. It washes well (air dry it), it's soft and comfortable, the heating wires haven't died anywhere and still works, and I appreciate how warm it stays and insulates. I got COVID-19 a few weeks after buying this blanket and lord it was a lifesaver. I got the worse chills, but this blanket got me through it. Sometimes even when my back aches I cover my back with the blanket and it doubles up as a heating pad! I've had a few other heating blankets but they never survive a full year, this is the first blanket that is actually holding up pretty good and I've had it consistently on daily for the past half year or so. It's still running great.

I’ve had this blanket for a week now. And it surpasses my wildest hopes. I place it under my duvet. It heats the bed in about 5 minutes so I have not used the preheat function. I now set it at the lowest setting since it actually gets too warm for me when set higher. I also tend to need it more early in the night due to my own body’s needs. Therefore, I set it to turn off in 2 hours, which is one of the 5 or so possible durations possible, which run from 1 hour to 10 hours. The control is easy to read even without my glasses. Note, it is called an “electric” blanket, not just a warming blanket, like in the 1980s.

Uses around 100W of power at max setting. In fact, most settings draw about the same and there are not very big differences in them. I was initially disappointed in the heat output of the blanket at first like some others. It's been decades since I've owned an electric blanket so regulations have obviously changed. My guess is that most other blankets produce the same amount of heat by regulation alone. I can tell you it absolutely hasn't been a problem. I sandwich the blanket between a similar sherpa blanket and a merino wool blanket, followed by a comforter. Beneath me, is another sherpa blanket. This is so the electric blanket isn't making direct contact with the skin on my body and allows me to wash it much less frequently if at all during the winter. I use it primarily to pre-warm my bed, which sits next to an open window in the dead of winter (I close it when I sleep). Between the sherpa blankets and the electric on top, the heat easily makes its way through and fully warms the entire bed. Despite my initial disappointment, I usually can't make it 2 hours without having to turn it off, so I usually set the timer to 2-3 hours instead of 8 on the setting of 6. I am a cold sleeper (need a lot of warmth) and while I could get by without this, this is just so much better on top of the sherpa sandwich I get into at night, especially for my feet. I have tried just a heating pad before but those tend to bunch up under the blankets over just a few days. The twin size fits well and has decent overhang. I have not had to wash it yet. The texture on its own is very warm and comfortable.
