GARDIGO® Water Jet Animal Repellent Motion Activated Sprinkler

... this item daily for four months now, so I feel that I have given it enough of a run to be able to sensibly comment. I will start by telling you what I use it for. This product has saved my garden ! I utilise it to deter cats from entering under a side gate and using my borders to relieve themselves on with uncanny - and dismaying - regularity. Since installing this product, my soil has not been defaecated upon even once ! No more do I have to contend with that putrid odour of pussy excrement as I stoop to scoop the poop yet again. I have it permanently attached to a hose which is fitted with an electronic timer. As I do not wish to be soaked every time I go to my garage, I have set the timer so that it comes on from seven at night to seven in the morning and I adjust it with the seasons. (As I am mostly at home during the day, I find that the cats are not so much an issue during daylight hours.) Please note that if you do this, there is always some residual water in the system and I recommend dangling a foot in front of the sensor for that first discharge before walking past in the mornings ! And do make sure that you remember to warn anyone else who might be housesitting, for example ! Otherwise, they will not thank you as the oscillating jet stays on for about five seconds and doesn't take any prisoners !! The direction and reach of the spray are easily adjustable. The motion sensor, I have found, works extremely well but one has to use some sense with these things ! Yes, it will be set off by things blowing around in front of it so position it facing a bare wall or fence if you can (or ensure that large plants are sufficiently far away) and don't leave it facing the sun. And anyway, the occasional 'false alarm' is a small price to pay for a cat-free garden !! I have yet to change the batteries and the unit is working as well as it did when first installed. As is my wont, I shall update this review should the product cease to function as it should at any stage. I will be very surprised if it makes it through the winter unscathed, but I shall certainly give it a go. If I have missed anything that you desperately wish to know, ask a question and I will do my best to respond... FV P.S. I have a field at the foot of my garden and to keep the cats away at that end - because another one of these would be a little extravagant - I have a PIR motion sensor built into an audio recorder onto which I have recorded the sound of a big dog barking loudly ! It's quite fun listening to their madly scrabbling paws when they first encounter it !! With both deterrents, I can finally breathe easy. AAAaaahhh... P.P.S. 09.04.2024 - Amazingly, the unit DID survive the winter (although I took it into the garage for three of the really cold days). I changed the batteries last month for the first time in ten months. It is still going strong, with no leaks, and I think that's pretty good... P.P.P.S 08.01.2025 - this item has finally broken as I forgot to take it inside during the latest really cold spell and the plastic has burst ! It's my fault. You can't question the quality of the product, really. And, frankly, even if I had to buy a new one every year, I think that's worth doing for the function that it performs...

Mr Heron would regularly visit my sleeper pond, sometimes a few times a day and it learnt to lift the netfloat to get at the fish. As soon as I fitted this scarcer I haven’t seen hide nor hair of it for months, even the Crows and Magpies that would eat the fish food before the fish could get to it won’t go near the pond. Easy to set up and adjust in a few minutes. One of my wonderful grandkids hoofed a football and broke the lower pipe, I ordered a new one, promptly delivered from Germany. I’d heartily recommend this product. WARNING ! Don’t let my grandkids play football in your garden …..

This is very sturdy, and sends a very powerful jet, and the motion sensor works well. We had great fun watching the neighborhood cats venture in and get chased out. The sprinkler cam be adjusted for direction, oscillation, and height. The only negative is that it doesn't have an "always on" feature, so if I want to water the garden normally I have to disconnect it and attach my normal sprinkler

Worked fantastically for the first week, then the water jet stopped moving from side to side as it sprayed and started leaking. The leak is now so bad it doesn't work, the water just piddles out in one direction. Waste of money and time, now have to buy another more expensive one

Ok so this arrived in a smaller box than expected. It also came with batteries. It took 5 minutes to assemble. Connected to a hose and it leaks from the ring on the bottom. I put PTFE tape on which resolved that. The head needs to be put on tight, otherwise you will get soaked when it whizzes around and falls off. Testing with a bucket on a string got zero activations. I realised it needed body heat too. So I waited and the neighbours cat soon got washed. Job done.

We had an influx of foxes in the last 2 years in our back garden. I started off with the usual garlic, used tea bags, and other bits of 'advice' I found online, but to no avail. Moved onto plastic spikes for the walls, blocking entry points, motion detector lights, motion detector sonic sound thingies, all sorts! Now it is getting costly, and the garden is a mess with rubbish and droppings, etc. If anything, I got a great view at night when the motion lights came on of my guests loitering around (also, the next-door neighbour leaving bones out for them was not helping). So no luck. I tried a different brand of motion detector sprinkler, but it fell apart after the first night. So I bit the bullet and tried again with this product. I also found an old motion detector alarm that seemed to be still working and combined the two. After a few weeks, hallelujah! You do have to make sure the unit is screwed in properly at the joints because they can come loose occasionally due to the strength of certain settings. And about once a week I unplug and replug the hose just to check it's ok and not leaking. The sound and water sprinkler combo did the trick, and it's been about 9 months now. I bought a second sprinkler to hit another entry point to shore things up in the meantime. Hope this helps some of you out there :)

Stop buying all these sonic alarms and other random fox deterrents. I’ve spent enough money on them over the years. This is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, it literally soaks the fox! They run away and stay away. Keep moving it to digger t position every week or so to keep the foxes guessing. We’ve not had a single fox poo in the garden since I bought it. Great product

J’ai une mini cave ouverte sur le jardin et les chats des voisins venaient uriner dedans et sur tout ce qui y étais. Je ne savais plus quoi faire et j’ai vu ce genre d’outil qui n’est ni dangereux ni douloureux pour les chats. Je l’ai mis en bas des escaliers et ça fonctionne à merveille. Après 2 semaines, j’ai débranché le robinet et les chats ne viennent plus. Je recommande vivement.

Bought this for my garden to stop neighbourhood cats from pooping in it and it worked very well. The first time the cat tried after we set it up the cat took off and hasn’t been back. I am leaving it set up though just to be sure.

Très bon produit, fonctionnement simple , efficace sur les chèvres 🐐🐐🐐. le jet va loin et est accompagné d'un petit bruit dissuasif. la mise en œuvre est simple, il suffit de visser les 3 parties délicatement (plastique) , de mettre les 2 piles et le tuyaux d'arrivée d'eau.. il n'y a plus qu'a le planter en terre et avec le petit bouton a l'arrière ajuster la portée de la détection.

Als 25 jaar probeer ik katten uit mijn tuin te houden. Speciale stinkende korrels, ultrasone apparaten, koffieprut, schrikdraad - niks werkte. Maar dit wel. Het werkt zelfs geweldig. Na anderhalve week geen kat meer gezien. Een prima bescherming voor de planten, vogels en andere dieren in te tuin. Per keer komt er maar iets van twee kopjes water uit, wat voldoende is voor een schrikeffect, maar zonder dat het meteen een natte kledderboel wordt of je een - letterlijk - verzopen kat krijgt. Het bereik en de gevoeligheid kan eenvoudig worden afgesteld middels een schuifje en een knop. Op maximale kracht komt het ding echt heel ver. Wel oppassen: even de waterdruk afschakelen voordat je zelf door de sensor loopt :)
