How does it stand upright in the glass (in picture)? Does it connect to the inside of the glass?

It doesn’t connect to anything. It doesn’t stand straight up but rather it leans against the inside of the glass. It always looks fantastic because it’s so full of great stuff. I live in Maine and we put a lobster tail right on it. Shrimp is great as well. We have three sets now. I would definitely suggest this for anyone who likes bloody marries. We have also done a great lemonade and used the trees with lemons, cherries, etc.
