Great for weekends away, late nights, or if your cat likes to eat at 3am!
I really like this thing! I had a long enough return window to test it out. I don't want this to be too long, so I will try and put just the important tips here. 1. When you create a meal schedule, NAME each dish; ie breakfast, lunch, dinner etc. This will help you if you want to reopen a dish later. 2. You CAN in fact re-open a dish that has closed, as long as the feeding plan for the day has not ended. DO NOT use the Feed Now feature to reopen a dish, use the Edit Meal Schedule feature. Carefully choose the dish you want to reopen, if you named them it's easy to tell which dish you are looking at. IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE MEAL A DAY SCHEDULED, you CANNOT reopen the dish!! Once a set Meal Schedule has completed, you cannot edit it and you will mess up the next schedule if you just click Feed Now. Feed Now is for when you are not using a pre-set Meal Schedule. 3. I pre-chilled my catfood in the fridge when we left for 3 days. You could even experiment with freezing the 3rd day; I haven't tested how long it takes to thaw in the feeder. 4. There is battery back up, and the app tells you if the power goes out. I also purchased a PetLibro dry food dispenser, which I like even more than the wet feeder. I have a Reolink camera set up so I can see the feeders and know that the food is being dispensed. The app also tells you when the cat came to the feeder and for how long, but I wanted to SEE her. Get your cat used to the feeder weeks in advance of a trip. Cats are fussy about their food dishes! I am considering using this feeder full time. It's so convenient to clean and fill the dish the night before, and set it and forget it for the next day. If you've got one of those cats that wakes you up at 3am to eat, here's your solution lol. I LOVE that because the food tray is cool and covered, it's super easy to wash. The leftover food doesn't dry up and glue itself to the bowl like spackle. The food tray being plastic is also not an issue imo. If you have bacteria growing on your cat dish, you need to learn how to clean. I do not get people saying it's too tall. Maybe for very small kittens? My cat is on the smaller size and she can reach just fine. If your cat likes it's food room temp or warmed up, this is not for you. It stops chilling 30 minutes before the scheduled meal time. Depending on your home temp, I don't know how fast it warms up. If your house is really warm, I would not leave it for 3 days. It might get too warm for food safety by day 3. Room for improvement?? Yes. I would like it to stay open longer. I would like more than 3 meal options. I would like all 3 meal cups to be cooled, not just the back 2, along with the option to tell the machine how far before feeding to stop cooling each dish. Does it do what it says it will do? Sure does! I'm happy with it and I look forward to future upgrades.

Great product but does not last and zero customer service support
Update 3/7 I’m reducing my 4 stars to 1. Not only did the unit stop working in less than 7 months, I’m also gettin no response from Petlibro. Multiple email requests and request through their support site have gone unanswered. It’s unfortunate, because other than the cooling unit failing, I really liked the product. Update 3/2/25. I’ve had this unit for 7 months now and today I went to clean and refill and found a blue tint in the food wells. It looks like some sort of mold. I also notice the unit wasn’t cold like it normally is. Every Sunday I thoroughly wipe down the unit and dust the side vents. I know the issue isn’t a result of clogged air vents. I have an email into Petlibro for support. I’m concerned that my pet may have eaten moldy food and also that it’s been less than a year and this product is already failing. ************************ Update: my ginger has finally figured out the dispenser and is eating from the unit without any issues. At 4am I hear him make a mad dash to the kitchen just seconds before the dinner bell. I think he hears the door sliding open! Absolutely love this feeder. **************** I really like the petlibro wet cat food dispenser. Its modern design and easy setup/maintenance are features that I appreciate. The app tells me how many times my cat visits the unit to eat and the duration. I also like the option of the smart notification feature that sounds every xx minutes for 10 minutes, and stopping when your pet starts eating. The main reason for purchasing this unit was so that I didn’t have to getup every morning at 4/4:30am to open a can of wet food. The first morning I walked my cat to the dispenser to show him his food. He was quite skeptical and didn’t really eat so I scoped out the food and placed it in his regular bowl. The next morning I walked him over a minute before the dispensed time so that he’d hear the bell. He still wouldn’t eat. 5th morning I realize about 5am he hadn't eaten much so I walk him over and watched him eat. I noticed that he had to cock his head to the side to eat. As I watched, I realized the compartment area is kinda small for his head and I think he’s experiencing whisker fatigue. I scooped the rest of the food out and placed it on a paper plate and he ate it right up. I don’t mind getting up at 4am until he gets the hang of the feeder but if he’s having difficulty eating from the unit, I will need to send it back. We are on day 8 now, and I’m working with him to associate the “dinner bell” to the unit. He’s still not getting it but he is a ginger after all. It might take a little more effort. Overall I really like this product

Amazing, makes life so much easier
We have 2 cats who have different dietary restrictions, and need to be on wet food now. This has made life a lot easier. I know there was a lot of concerns about the food or device being warm, I believe this was patched in a firmware/device update and its always cold. I do recommend you dry clean the inside, pretty much everytime you reload the device, as puddles of condensation appear under the food dish (plus it keeps it clean for the babies (: Highly recommend for keeping your pets on a regular feeding schedule. My only gripes are: Thiis device needs to be online at all times, and that if there are issues with your wifi, or the web app/service PetLibro ia down, the food will not dispense. Only 3 meals, the device could handle more Scheduling in the app is a buggy nightmare, it works but it took a few days to really get it. Rating it a 5 because its currently, as of December 2024, a great solution.

Works at a basic level, but room for improvement
Update #4/final update 5/13/25: upgrading my score from 1 to 3 because the "dealbreaker" issues I already listed haven't happened in the past few months (e.g. I haven't had the feeder get stuck on the first meal of a schedule past it's start time with no notification; I have not had any errors that I didn't get notified about in months). There's still those "app quirks" like the feeding logs being wrong, the manual open/close buttons not always working. I am leaving my previous comments here because I think it's still important to note they happened, but I've changed my mind since things have gotten better since the first month. I think I would buy it again for the convenience, but I am also looking forward to seeing more competition for wet food feeders that can actually hold enough food for 3 days. Update #3: tl;dr buy it if you think this is worth $100 (or whatever price it bumps up to) to be buggy from the get-go, and randomly stop working with no warning some time in the first few months, when it's out of the free return time period. I would NOT buy it again with all that I've experienced while owning it, because now I clearly got to babysit and waste time troubleshooting when failed meals don't show, go looking and spend more money on alternatives. I hope they fix whatever hardware/software issues it clearly has, and figure out a way to improve it so the feeder has some sort of fallback when there seems to be issues with the app... Update #2 3/17/2025: contacted support. While they did respond, they told me to use a option I confirmed doesn't show up in the app when they claim it should - "Reposition schedule." They gave me a bunch other random troubleshooting steps. Then I had a 2nd feeding skipped this morning. Scheduled 4AM to 8AM, saw at 7:55AM feeder wasn't open. No errors or warnings in the app - this time it just showed "Waiting to feed." Connection lights correct. Update #1 3/11/2025: reducing to 1 star. Had it scheduled to run at 6AM this morning and it didn't feed. Got no notifications about any issues from the app even though my notifications settings are set to include network issues and got none for that timeframe. It's been connected the whole time from what I can tell - I scheduled the meals after midnight last night, nothing in the logs show any issue with the app talking to the feeder since that time. Didn't notice the missed meal until it didn't run at 11:30AM for the next feeding, when I was around to notice. Then saw the first meal is "unknown status" on the schedule. It's plugged in, connected to WiFi, no issues with the feeder lights, how is it unknown status? "Open now" button didn't work to force it out. I had to redo the entire schedule for it to open the feeder, but at least that did work. Judging by other reviews, you should expect this feeder to fail. Guess you can judge for yourself whether that's worth your money. I don't think it's a coincidence it is failing outside the 30-day money back guarantee, especially with so many people reporting issues. Not even sure if it's worth it to contact support based off other reviews...might update this review again if I contact them and have any luck. The app is already flaky on statuses as I mentioned below. I also regularly see "preparing to feed" after it's open and been feeding for 30+ minutes per schedule. Many times I've tried to set the schedule, after the save, it's changed the date for the meals (e.g. setting for 3/11 and then notice after the save it appears as 3/12 instead). One other note: I did order 2 extra feeding trays through the PetLibro site. They were $15 each, so an extra $30 on top of the regular cost here if you don't want to clean your tray daily and want the feeder to do the "3 days of feeding" as advertised. Original review: Have been using this on/off for about a week. During this time, I am not keeping it continuously plugged in as I am just getting my cat used to the feeder, and as he is getting fed 4-5 times a day I am putting out separate bowls for some meals too. I tend to schedule 2-3 meals a day with this feeder (starting with early morning before I have to wake up) and do the rest without the feeder. tl;dr: it does the basics of what it needs to do for me, haven't had any of the bigger issues others have reported (i.e. skipping meal schedules), but I am seeing hurdles to me utilizing this for all my cat's meals since he's had to go 100% wet food. Pros: - Didn't have any issues with the setup, but might be worth noting I am comfortable with tech, and our Wi-FI signal to the feeder is usually listed as "High." - I've had no issues with the scheduler working. When I check the slots I set overnight, they're empty of the food that was set out, app reflects "Feeding." I have noticed it also closing the feeding slot as I've schedule it to end when I am around for that. It shows preparing 30 minutes prior to feeding, and has rotated per schedule, the few times I've "monitored" it. Food seems to be warm enough for my cat when it is out, while the bowl still feels a little chilled. - I have the device sound set to normal, and do hear a ding sound when a meal is set out. My cat has also learned this means to check for new food. - When I am unplugging it, I periodically get a notification that the feeder is disconnected (the "network notifications" in settings), but only 1-2 times a day. Not sure though if it is supposed to be sending these more often. The two options are "no repeated notifications within half an hour" and "..within 1 hour." Might consider this a "con" if you are having issues with your home network and would want to know more frequently. I think I only got 1 disconnected notification when it was plugged in, and had no issue with that schedule. Cons: - Censors/PetLibro App specific: I keep getting logs that the cat "came to eat" when he was sitting on my lap or somewhere that is not even close to the feeder. The feeder is about 6 feet away from me when I work from home, and I will see logs popping up when nothing could be "actively" triggering it. This is also happening with pretty much every meal to some degree - it'll track "came and ate" for periods of less than 10 seconds repeatedly over the span of a minute, or sometimes just one log of "came to eat for 2 sec" every minute. I think it might have also recorded me a couple of times when I walk by it. Fortunately I haven't needed this information to be accurate, but I now know I wouldn't be able to rely on this if we were away long enough to have peace of mind. Probably would want to supplement this with a pet camera or some other tracking if you actually need to know. At this point, I wish I could turn this tracking off since it's just spamming the Logs with incorrect information, but I am not even finding a way to do it in the Settings...so I guess I'll just ignore the Logs going forward. - The lid can be stubborn when closing. I've had to make sure I hear the "click" because it will appear to be fully closed when it isn't. - Why aren't additional bowl trays easily available to buy? This does not make any sense to me. I see other Q&A mentions you can contact support for more, but you shouldn't have to do that. I'd like this a lot more if I could buy a pack of these trays to quickly replace a dirty one with a clean one to repopulate with the next meals, and not need to be handwashing the same one at least daily if I were to solely use this feeder. - App specific: You can't mark all the messages in the Message Center as "read." You have to manually go into them and click them to get marked as read. Other notes/comments: - It would be nice if there were more slots in the feeder. I am trying to feed my boy 4-5 times a day (he likely has either a motility disorder or early inflammatory bowel disease, and we are currently monitoring him on just his wet food that hasn't been triggering problems), and I won't be able to do that with just one of these feeders unless I am washing it 2x daily, or buying a 2nd feeder. - Would also be nice if they had a stainless steel/non-plastic version of the tray. - App specific: would be nice if you could save schedules as drafts/save them without starting them. The manual says to not open the lid or change food after the plans have been saved, but that means if you need a new schedule, you gotta wait until you've already prepped it to set the schedule up. I have not tried testing this with any schedules more than 1 day out for the reasons mentioned above - there's not enough slots to feed my boy for even a full day. I haven't placed any backup batteries in this yet, so can't speak to how well those work.

Good for now, but would like some improvement
Ive had the automatic feeder for about 3 weeks now. My kitten is now 17 wks old and was ~ 3.6 lbs when i started using the feeder. Pros: easy to clean and set up a schedule. Easy to set up and remove the plate. Tracks how long the cat eats. Having the semiconductor cooling system (no ice packs) was the selling point for me. Cons: i wouldn't recommend this for owners with a kitten. The feeder is too large for a kitten. I've set up a little stool for my kitten to reach the food bowl, but I honestly think it curbed his diet because it's at an uncomfortable height--he eats with at least one paw on the rim of the feeder just to reach. Also, the app has paid features where you can set up other cat health trackers that I dont see the appeal in/is unnecessary. Please improve: I wish the app would let me re-open a meal after the set feeding time is over. This was especially frustrating while getting my kitten adjusted to the new feeder--my kitten would not eat during the set time, and i would have to end the feeding schedule early and make a brand new one. I also would like the app to have options for the feeder sound volume to make it louder. My kitten is a bit dumb and easily distracted, so unless he's right by the feeder when the ding goes off he doesnt notice its time to eat. I will still keep this feeder because there is not many options in the market. I dont have a better option at the moment, but i hope we can see improvements in the automatic no-ice pack wet cat food feeders in the next couple of years. Edit: changed review to 4 stars Shortly after i sent my last review, the app added an update where you can set the meal sound to ring multiple times within the first 10 min of the feeding plan until the feeder recognizes the cat started eating. This has significantly helped my kitten with my previous gripe about him missing the meal bell and ending up with him skipping meals. He is finishing his meals more consistently now. I appreciate the app's commitment to continuous improvement. Also, my kitten is now 19 wks and 5 lbs. The height of the feeder is more tolerable. He still eats with his paws on the rims of the feeder, but its more comfortable for him now. All in all, it took ~ 5 wks of use before i felt confident that my kitten could use the feeder without my supervision--which is longer than i expected based on other reviews. I think this feeder should be marketed more towards adult cats so other buyers wont get confused as well.

Not configurable
The hardware seems to work fine. It is well built and works well, especially for the price range. It is also the only item on the market that uses refrigeration (even though it is inefficient, peltier-device cooling, which wastes more energy than a mini-fridge, and generates a lot of waste heat). The most important thing to know is that they are working on this product, but they haven't quite thought through the features yet, letting the hardware down. What I wanted was a product that could feed my cat wet food for up to 3 days on his schedule, while I was away, like the various, bare-bones dry feeders that let you program multiple times of day to dispense food. However, it doesn't work like this. There is a way they want it to be used, and the app stubbornly sticks to it. For example, using the app, you cannot have the same chamber open twice. For my cat who eats less than half a can per sitting, for about 5 minutes, once in the morning and again at night, it would be ideal to use each chamber twice per day. If I want to schedule this, closing it between feedings to keep the food fresh, it is impossible - that chamber has been 'used'. There are only 3 chambers. So, to use it for '3 day feeding' as advertised, you can only feed once per day, when used as intended. How it works is that the app gives you the ability to program a day and time for each of the three chambers to be opened - once a chamber is used, you have to start a new schedule to access that chamber again. So, you can feed three times in a single day, or once a day for 3 days, or maybe twice the first day and the morning of the second, but that's it. If you try to work around this manually, you are stuck. If you are away when you click 'feed now', you cannot verify which chamber is being fed from. So you will likely end up feeding old food, or an empty chamber: - 'Feed now' preempts the next feeding period, so one of the chambers is now "used" - but which one? It is unfortunately unpredictable, as sometimes the machine rotates after feeding, and sometimes it seems to wait until the next scheduled feeding time - I verified this by labeling the chambers myself. I think it is related to how the device tries to 'warm' the food by moving it to an unrefrigerated area before feeding time. Meaning that once it designates a chamber 'used' it might not even care anymore about rotating to keep it cold - another reason workarounds fail. - The device does NOT remember or designate chambers other than by their relative location when you first activate the schedule. It keeps an internal count of rotations, I think, as long as a schedule is active, but the machine does not know which chamber is which, otherwise. - So if a schedule ends, it forgets the current position of the chambers, and YOU don't know where the fresh, cold food is. Making it unsafe to start a new schedule or to use the 'feed now' option while away. I tried a complicated workaround where I set different feeding schedules, so that my cat could be fed morning and night, and the food kept fresh between feedings. Basically I set it up to do 6 feedings in 3 days this way. Because of the limits with designating chambers, I'd have to remember to activate a new schedule each morning, taking into account which chambers would be where after the previous day. I tested this while I was home for a weekend, so I could test its behavior without risking my cat's health; however, I found this to be unreliable, since it does not rotate predictably, and the tracking gets screwy each time a schedule ends. Confusingly, despite this, they allow you to automatically 'repeat' the schedule. I guess this is for when you use it for 1 day of feeding and your routine is to reload all three chambers every day. Otherwise, the best outcome is that you could feed the same 3 meals, 3 times a day, over multiple days, serially - not ideal, or safe. A SIMPLE solution would be to allow the app to assign multiple daily feedings to each chamber within a schedule, and to label each chamber A, B, C, etc. I suppose they don't do this because the owner would have to take responsibility for how long the food is exposed to room temperature, and therefore at risk. Further, they would have to modify the behavior to rotate the chamber to the 'safe' temperature between feedings, which it doesn't seem to do. So, they added a 'feed now' option and changed the amount of time the chamber could be open, due to feedback. But they still only offer the paradigm of one chamber, one use. With the limits of the app, to use it for my intended purpose of multiple daily feedings, I would need 3 machines, one for each day. Moreover, my cat is skeptical of the machine. I'm sure with training this could be overcome, but since the 'feed now' option is wonky (as described above), I have to be present each time it is used that way, which undermines the training we've done. He happily watches the machine work, then turns to me and asks where his real dinner is. I'll be returning this item until they understand that the way their app is configured severely limits its usefulness.

Holy cow..it works! Chilled food for 3 meals!
I was skeptical. This is a new product... different than the packs of ice-style alternatives...you plug it in, and it's DONE! Fill it up - upwards of 3 meals - and you're good to go. There are three "sections" inside the machine that a 3-section plate sits atop. The cold plate underneath chills two of the three sections. The third, is the un-chilled area so the colder food can turn, then warm-up for 30 minutes before the door opens. Voila! You can program it each day, or just adhere to a schedule. It's completely customizable. OR, you can manually open the door via the app., then manually close it. Otherwise, you configure how long the door is open - feeding time - and even if your pet is still feeding, the sensors detect the small movement and will NOT close the door until it stops. We tested it for a few days, got him used to the "ding dong" bell and quiet click, whirr of the door opening, and now he knows those sounds mean FOOD! Dry food is easier... and a pet that won't wolf it all down in a second.. you don't need this. We can't dump a pile of food for our kitty and hope all works out. He'll simply gorge himself on it, throw up, and be miserable. No dry food... just wet... 1, 3oz can per section on the plate w/a bit of water added...done. He's a sloppy eater, so he manages to push food up and over the plate section...so...there are crumbs leftover. Big deal. VERY easy to clean. In fact, it's cleaner than the bowl and the usual mess he makes. So far, so great! We've only tested it for one meal at around 3pm when we're not around. The real test will be 2 or even 3...for the whole day - E.g. if we go to the beach, or something. We'd still have a sitter if we're gone overnight, but even then... the sitter can't come at certain hours, so...use this thing and they can arrive at normal times, leave, and he'll still be fed at the proper time. For us, that's 9am, 3pm, and 11pm. Not sure about chilling the third meal, because it'll be over the un-chilled section of the plate below... but... again, just make that the first feeding zone. He doesn't mind the machine...any noise - it's whisper-quiet - or how tall it is - he's used to eating lower to the floor. The transformer that plugs into the extension cord we set up...gets VERY warm. It's not hot enough to burn anything, but it's much warmer than expected. This is likely due to the energy required to run what is essentially a small refrigerator. So far, so great... and we are very thankful for the invention!

Simply Does Not Function
I am very glad I spent a week trying (and failing) to get the Polar to function, rather than just trusting it and having my cat starve. The unit I received unit connects to WiFi without issue. I know because I have disconnected, reset, reconnected, and switched between multiple 2.4GHz networks in a desperate attempt to keep my cat fed for an upcoming trip. Firmware is updated without issue to the latest firmware (V2.0.24, the latest according to the app at the time of writing) The chiller, presumably a Peltier junction, works nicely. The door opens at the scheduled feeding time and when triggered manually. And that's it. The food door simply never closes. The rotating tray is correctly installed, the food dish is not overfilled, and there are no obstructions to the door's movement. When attempting to manually close the door using the Close Now button in the app, I am told that my pet is eating. What my pet is actually doing is sleeping. I am standing in my kitchen looking at the feeder which I have placed on top of a trash can, no less than 6 feet from any object other than the floor. Still, the unit insists that the door cannot be closed because my "pet is eating". The unit will stay like this indefinitely as the first meal fossilizes, never closing the door, never advancing the meal. Is it a faulty proximity sensor? Is it a faulty app? Is it something else? I will never know because this is going in a box back where it came from. At least I have something to do this weekend instead of the trip I had planned.

Convenient to use
This is a very good product and extremely convenient for anyone with a busy schedule or long working hours. You can easily control it from your phone and feed your cat right away, which makes daily feeding much more manageable. Unfortunately, my cats don’t want to use it. They aren’t scared of it—they just don’t seem to like eating from it.

Biggest waste of money
There are so many problems with this feeder I don't think I have enough room to fit them all here. From the schedule, that only allows you to set a total of 3 feeding times per day, and only for a maximum of 4 hours each. Meaning your cat is only allowed to access their food for a total of 12 hours a day. If your cat is a grazer, like mine, they want/need access to their food closer to 20 hours daily. So I have to set myself reminders and use the app to manually open the feeder, which cancels out any potential schedule, so now I'm a slave to having to remember to open the feeder every 5 hours or so. I know from experience when WFH that sometimes the app doesn't work and will tell you the unit is open when it isn't, or that the dish has rotated, when it hasn't. So on days when I am in office, I have to hope my cat actually has access to their food. Some times the app just refuses to communicate with the unit and I have had to go through multiple attempts at restarting the app, my phone, or unplugging and resetting the unit to get it to work again. Their solution, put the unit within 2 feet of your wireless modem...as if that's realistic... It's 6 months into my ownership of this unit and the refrigeration unit seems to have died, or is dying, as it no longer keeps the food as cool as it used to, perhaps that's a result of having to keep the unit open longer than they want to allow you, and so it's overworking. But that's an issue of poor design. There is a sensor built in that knows when your cat is at the bowl and feeding, I don't understand why there isn't a feature to have it automatically open when it senses your cat there, and then have it close after the 3-5 minutes they might eat.

A great wet food feeder, but not perfect!
I’ve been using this for about a week or two on and off! It’s a great addition to my house! I initially really really did not want to order it in the black colour but I waited for months both on amazon (Canada) and the pet libro website and the white was still out of stock. My cat is white so I find her hair and dust get on it and make it look grimy daily but I just give it a while down. I find the app reasonable easy to use and to program her three feeds a day. I have run into issues scheduling and I just delete it and start again and it all works out. I don’t love that it only comes with one plastic bowl, the stainless steel bowl option was also not available in Canada when I bought this but I reached out and they should have it available at the end of the month. I plan on retiring the plastic bowl and buying 2-3 stainless versions just so I can have them in the dishwasher. I also really wish I could turn the noise down lower for the cute “ding ding!” That it makes when food is ready. Not off, just quieter particularly for her morning feed. You can turn it off but then I find she may miss a feed. All in all, a great feeder, just a few small things.

Love this feeder!
I am so happy with my purchase! It has been great with keeping my cat’s wet food cold and giving it to her at the right times. She has stopped relying on me to give her the food by waking me up every morning at 5am. Now I can sleep in without any disturbances! I love the app so far we have been using it for a little over a week. It will let you know how often your pet has been at the feeder, how long they were there for, and at what times they ate food. It has been an absolute game changer for us, as when we go on trips we don’t have to get the pet sitter to come two times a day just when the feeder is empty!

Needs more work on design to be more kitty-friendly
We've been trying this automatic cat feeder for 4 months for when we're at work, and I don't think I'd recommend it. The app part is fantastic, love that I can see how often my cat comes to the feeder and how long she eats for. I agree with other users I don't think it's keeping the wet food cold enough, and my cat generally doesn't enjoy eating from it and is eating less and has lost weight. I don't think the shape of the dishes and how deep down the food is once the panel opens, is right for cats. It bends their whiskers a fair bit, and our kitty struggles to get all the food out because she's trying to stick her face into a hole essentially. I feel like it'd be fine for a small dog but not for cats. A lower profile overall, a stainless steel dish, a shallower recess for the food, and colder temps would make huge improvements. Love the app though! Feel like this is nearly there, would suggest PetLibro do a bit more research into how cats prefer to eat and whisker irritation for new updates.
