It recommends you have a large wall space to use this learning kit more efficiently. The more we use it, the more it makes sense. Especially you should keep up the pieces on the wall. This is to help develop the skills and knowledge over time.The kit is designed to teach kids over the year. So it isn’t something you can or should cover over a weekend. It supposed to be taught in stages. You teach set, you encourage the kids to use what they are taught over a few days. When you feel they learnt it. You move on.They provide two templates, word map and word web. I believe this can also be printed out. The instructions is very clear and detailed. It leaves you with everything you need to use this correctly. I personally learnt things I knew but didn’t realise I knew. I look at words differently now. Very valuable lessons to be learnt from this. Morphology analyses parts of words (morphemes), such as root words, base words, prefixes and suffixes.Prefixes and suffixes, base words and root words play a crucial role in phonics, providing children with valuable tools to expand their vocabulary and build a strong foundation in language. By incorporating this wall card set you can support your child’s phonics journey and help them excel in their reading and writing abilities.My almost 5 year old grandson is starting to learn that a prefix is added to the beginning of a base word, while a suffix is added to the end of a base word, both altering the original meaning of the word. For example, the prefix ‘un-‘ in ‘unhappy’ and the suffix ‘-ly’ in ‘slowly.’He's also learning that base words are similar to root words, but they are not exactly the same. A base word is a standalone English word that can also form other words by using prefixes and suffixes - whereas, root words cannot always be used as an independent word. When a prefix or suffix is added to a base word, the word's meaning changes and a new word is formed.
