Good Built quality, excllent images and fast auto focus
The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art is a professional-grade standard zoom designed for full-frame mirrorless systems like Sony E-mount and L-mount (Panasonic/Leica/Sigma). It’s the successor to Sigma’s original DG DN 24-70mm f/2.8 and brings notable upgrades in autofocus speed, handling, and overall optical performance — all while remaining significantly more affordable than many first-party zooms. This lens is consistently sharp across most of the zoom range. Centre sharpness is excellent wide open at f/2.8 and improves further when stopped down, with very good edge performance as well. The 11-blade diaphragm delivers pleasing, smooth bokeh with natural transitions, making this lens great for portraits and shallow depth-of-field work. The lens is compact for a 24-70mm f/2.8 but still feels solid and professional. At around 745 g, it’s lighter than many first-party alternatives, though still on the heavier side for some users. There’s no optical stabilization in the lens itself, so you have to rely on in-body stabilization if your camera supports it. Has solid build quality with weather-sealing and useful handling features. Has fast, quiet autofocus for both photos and video. Gives smooth bokeh and attractive rendering. The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art is one of the best value standard zooms available for full-frame mirrorless cameras today for Sony E amount. It offers near-flagship-class image quality, impressive autofocus, and professional handling features at a price that undercuts many competitors.

Probably the best in this zoom range and aperture
I had the mark-1 version of this lens whixh was pretty heavy. Upgraded to this the moment its launched. Significant weight reduction. Quality bokeh (i put on 70mm and move around the subject for maximising it.) Ultra sharp. Even when cropped in. I use along with sony a7rv. Super clear. Build quality is pretty much same as mark-1. Though i see this version is better in handling dust. Cons- why the zoom ring rotation of signa is in other direction. It annoys me after using any other lens for a while and suddenly switch to sigma for some close ups. Really irritating. So this lens only 4.95/5 😎

Almost perfect
This is one of the best zoom lens that can do both wide and telephoto range. Pro's 1. Image quality is top notch 2. quality build like a tank 3. Focus and the zoom ring is perfect 4. AF is not like a GM lens but it's only a slight edge to the GM Con 1. Weight it soo heavy can hold it more that 45min 2. No usb port for software update 3. The rubber in the focus and zoom ring is magnet for dust it irritating It one of the best value for money lens out there for this price.if you want a lens that should do 80% of the your needs then this is the best choice

Great general purpose zoom lens
While I love primes, you can't beat the flexibility of a zoom lens for general photography. I wanted a lens that was tack sharp and had a constant aperture through the zoom range. The Sony lens in this range are a lot more expensive, but I've had good luck with Sigma lenses, so I chose the cheaper option. The first thing you notice about the Sigma is that the zoom ring rotates counterclockwise to zoom in, whereas most other brands rotate clockwise to zoom. It’s like driving in England or Japan compared to the US or Europe. You can adjust except when you have to make a really quick decision, and you turn the wrong way. The other thing you notice is that it is a hefty lens that feels very solid. I shot it for three hours at a race, and it never felt like it was too heavy. I did a “scientific” test comparing the Sigma with other lenses in my kit bag at matching focal lengths and at f/2.8 or as close as I could get. I shot a book cover using a tripod and a remote trigger. I lined things up by eye, so the book was not going to be perfectly parallel to the front of the lens. I shot inside using available light and adjusted shutter speed to keep the ISO at 100. While the primes were slightly sharper, especially in the corners, you had to pixel peep to see much difference. For normal shooting, this lens is sharp through the zoom range. I used the Sigma to shoot the Canal Corridor 100 mile endurance race at the 60-mile mark aid station. It performed very well. Previously, I’ve shot the Burning River 100 mile endurance run using the Sony A99ii and Sony 70-400mm zoom. Because of the long zoom, I found most of my shots were taken with the runners further away. With the 24-70, I was waiting until the runner filled the frame more, and I got more intimate shots. I rarely missed focus, and the shots were all sharp. The backgrounds blurred nicely. The zoom range let me get wide angle shots to capture the support crew and spectators. Overall, the lens proved to be an excellent choice. Highly recommended for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras. I haven't tried it on my APS-C camera yet, but it should be good on that.
