Battery size veries
I brought this as a like for like item since the old one broke. In the reviews it said size D batteries which was perfect.Now going to fit the chime the item I've been given is size C. And to add insult the is 1 on Amazon saying size C batteries that's even cheeper

Good Chime - Cost effective (and internally Friedland branded)
Fine chime - Loud enough, easily fitted AND clearly branded Frieland inside!Would have preferred battery power to be a 9V (pp3) rather than by 4 x chunky 'D' (or possibly 'C') cell, but that's all.

Too quiet
Easy enough to fit but unfortunately not loud enough. It may suit you, depending on where it's situated, but if you've got more than one room between you and the bell you may find it too faint.

Same as Friedland, Half the Price
Arrived and fitted just now, its a direct replacement to the Friedland one I had fitted, it's branded Friedland inside on the mechanism, but not on the plastic cover. It's just as loud as the old one I had also. From what I can tell the internals are Friedland and the plastic mouldings on it are Newlec.

Great value
Well made and looks modern in any hallway, loud enough to hear through two doors. In all very impressed and at little cost.

Exact replacement for my previous Friedland, which was a simple two note type, just a slightly more modern case. Does the job it's supposed to.
