Yes, the Philips products are pricier but the app has a simple and beautiful interface, the lights connect easily, and it doesn't bombard you with ads try to get you to go on a message board for light nerds.I have a Govee TV light and it's cheaper but the interface felt like I was customizing a MySpace application or website builder.I ended up returning that and spending a couple more bucks for the Hub when it was on sale on Prime Day. The Philips has more than anyone needs of really good presets (are designed attractively) and update often.Now I have a total of four lights. The Hub works with Matter, they seamlessly turn on and off with my Google minis.Unfortunately the only way to connect the superior Phillips lights with Google Home now is via the hub. In order to get this to work with Google that was the only way, and which is why I initially opted for the cheaper Govees.Anyway, having the four connected hue bulbs beats any of these other brands. The transitions between colors, or even turning on and off, seem smooth versus abrupt and clunky like the TP- bulbs (which I also returned). You can't go wrong with Philips. Ultimately you get what you pay for.

Was using some random cheap wifi smart lights and the reliability sucked. They would just randomly not follow commands.Got these and set up the hub and everything works flawlessly now. They respond to commands fast and hook up with Alexa routines perfectly.Even the colours just look a lot better.Plus it auto discovers the lights, no messing around with wierd apps/turning the bulb on/off to pair it.
