Heartbreaking but vital reading.
The Jewish Dog tells the awful story of the Holocaust through the eyes of a young pup called Caleb. It is a heartbreaking book. It was a real tear-jerker and there were many times that I felt I couldn't continue reading it. But I did and, even though the ending was bittersweet, I was glad that I stuck with it. But you definitely need a box of tissues nearby because you will spill many tears over this book.

Brilliantly creative. The author's imagination cleverly depicts the horror of the Shoah through the innocent eyes of Caleb. The story is a metaphor for evil and purity.
I would thoroughly recommend this book to teenagers and adults who are unfamiliar with the Shoah. There are many important facts woven into the story.

A Dog's Life of Loyalty
A first class read, sad and yet joyous. The loyal bond of dog defeats the horrors of world war two.
