Absolutely Works
Money well spent! I never have left a review for a product before, but felt I needed to this time. Moved in to a home with a slippery shower floor. I was so worried about my mom falling in the shower. I added grab bars, thinking that was the solution, but it still wasn’t enough. Add soap and shampoo to the mix, and it was just plain dangerous. Read all the reviews, and decided to give it a try. It was more than I wanted to spend, but absolutely worth it. I found the directions on the bottle a little confusing, so I went on YouTube, and watched their video, which totally simplified the application process. It was really very easy to prep and apply. Everyone remarked after their showers today, that it felt so much better, safer, and not at all worried about slipping. This is amazing stuff, and I would recommend it to anyone that has those slippery porcelain tiles in their shower!

Surprisingly effective
I got these big beautiful porcelain tiles for our new guest bath but didnt know how lethal they could be when wet. I didnt want to hide the tiles under a bath mat so I thought I would try this out. I put maybe 5 coats on. It has worked like a charm. Its been a few months since application and still as grippy as ever. When the tile is dry it has a very low tack and you hardly notice it.

It Works, and So Will You
As everyone says, "It works!" But it was a lot of work for me. My kitchen floor has large tiles that are shiny and I nearly broke my hip slipping on even a small drop of water. This product got great reviews so I thought I'd try it and share what I learned. It is expensive--know that one quart bottle covers only 50-75 square feet--barely enough to cover my kitchen. You will need a mop and bucket to wash your floor, two 1 gallon sprayers (one to apply the product and another to apply the neutralizer--water and baking soda), and a wet vac. It helps to have rubber boots, safety goggles, and hand gloves. I was very nervous about ruining my kitchen floor but it came out looking OK--the surface is no longer shiny--it is dull, which is why it has such a great grip. I tested a small area and got nervous when it still seemed slick at 14 1/2 minutes (they said it would take 5-15 minutes). I went with that length of time and it did the trick. You have to spray as evenly as possible quickly, and I can see some areas are duller than others from a bit of unevenness, but I saw no way to spread it out because a mop would have absorbed the product. I sprayed the neutralizer and then wet vacuumed it up, then sprayed another layer of neutralizer and vacuumed again, then I wet mopped with just water. Between the shopping for products and getting everything set up (I masked my stainless appliances at their base near the floor but probably didn't need to), I spent the entire afternoon on it. I probably sweated the details more than needed, but this is a very visible floor! I called Slip Doctor with some questions and they were very responsive, 888-436-5404. I would recommend this product but hope I never have to do this again.

Worked eventually
I purchased this product to treat an extremely slippery (dangerously so) travertine shower in a condo I recently purchased. Even though it was quite expensive, I was desperate to do something quickly to prevent injury while showering. I was literally scared to take a shower for fear of falling. I diligently followed directions and completed the application as described. After the first go, there was no significant change. So I did the whole process again. After this time, there was some improvement, so I decided to give it a try the next time I showered. The following day in the shower, I could still feel enough slippage to make me uneasy. At this point, I just figured it was not going to work. However, I just had to do something or I would never feel safe to take a shower in my new place. Well, the next day, I completed the process for the THIRD time, and it finally worked, but by this time, I had used the entire bottle of Slip Doctor. My shower is just average size, 3x5, and I had hoped to used the product 3 times. Instead I had to use all of it to get a satisfactory result. Now I am only wondering just how long it will last.

Doesn't work well on textured cultured marble
I applied this per instructions on a textured cultured marble shower floor that is very slippery. Initial application did not help at all, so I did another application. It seemed to make the floor slightly less slippery, but its effects lasted only a couple of weeks. I went ahead and gave the product 3 stars because it probably works well on other surfaces -- just not on cultured marble.

We can NOW take showers without worries of slipping!
As seniors we know what a fall can do and we waisted so much money on useless shower mats. THIS product solved all that as the results are incredible if properly applied. 1. Cleaned shower tile floor thoroughly with a long handle stiff brush and liquid cleaning solution. 2. Let floor dry and apply painters tape over metal drain per instructions. 3. Used one third bottle in a pan along with a grout sponge and latex gloves. 4. Applied product evenly over entire surface with sponge but not too heavy. 5. Set timer for 15 minutes but 11 minutes was perfect so product was not fully dried. 6. Poured several buckets of water with a bit of baking soda mixed over floor to fully rinse. 7. Let air dry and remove drain tape. The instructions on the bottle are extremely small and hard to read but it has a bar code for much easier reading on your phone. Amazing results!
