It gave me a deeper understanding of religion. Prior knowledge of gender and/or Islam may be useful, but I found it well explained and you can definitely follow along without prior knowledge. For me, this book was and is important. Learning how to read the Quran in a positive reinforcing sense that is consistent with my values is priceless and I am very grateful for it. I think more people should read this book. If you are thinking about buying the book, I would definitely say yes, as long as you are willing to really look into it and invest time in it. Because the book is not a light read that you can quickly run over. Es ist ein wirklich tolles Buch. Es hat mir ein tieferes Verständnis ermöglicht. Vorkenntnisse über Gender und/oder den Islam können nützlich sein, aber ich fand es gut erklärt und man kann auch ohne große Vorkenntnisse gut folgen. Zu lernen, wie ich den Koran in einem positiven, verstärkenden Sinne lesen kann, der mit meinen Werten übereinstimmt, ist unbezahlbar und ich bin sehr dankbar dafür. Ich denke, mehr Menschen sollten dieses Buch lesen. Wenn du darüber nachdenkst, das Buch zu kaufen, würde ich auf jeden Fall ja sagen, sofern du bereit bist, dich wirklich damit zu beschäftigen und Zeit zu investieren. Ich glaube nicht, dass es das Buch auf Deutsch gibt, deshalb sind sehr gute Englischkenntnisse hilfreich um es zu verstehen. Das Buch ist keine leichte Lektüre, aber so wichtig!

Great book, but you should invest time in it
