Good value, but would buyers advise me to stain or leave as is? Thanks** A: I just used Danish wood oil on mine, I like the colour so didn’t want to change it with a stain. The wood oil just slightly darkens the wood and is a good preservative, especially where I live on the coast. I have had a similar bench for three years which is in full sun, the wood oil, applied every year, keeps it looking good and stops the wood drying out. **Q: Can you deliver this to a Scottish Island (Arran)?** A: I've no idea on this as it was delivered to me in Leeds Yorkshire. **Q: I’m looking for a good fit weather proof cover for the two seater benches and small table, any recommendations please, much appreciated, thanks** A: I bought 2 separate bench covers, they are shaped to fit. Dokon is the brand. They have kept my benches well protected in blazing sunshine and this really wet and windy winter. I prefer separate covers, I’ve covered with 1 cover in the past but the rain tends to hold in places in big puddles and stretches and breaks the cover. The delivery guy was lovely and carried the bench into my back garden for me. It is a solid bench that won't get blown around in what can be a very windy garden. It is well made and beautifully finished and brilliant value for money. The dates are automatically generated by Amazon which you need to ignore and speak to the company direct about expected delivery dates. I emailed a lady called Vicky who was brilliant at answering my questions straightaway. Very good communication. Also, she said that because the bench is made from softwood, it is not a good idea to use oil-based treatments on it and to treat it as soon as possible after delivery. I was so pleased she told me that because I was going to get oil-based but have now opted for Curpinols Garden shades in Willow Green which is water-based. Though it won't be getting painted for a while because there's a lot of rain forecast for quite a while. So for now, it is under a bench cover until we get some drier weather.
