I recommend using the ostomy glue remover that comes in a large 50 pack of moist wipes to get a good seal. I use the very thin wax rings with success. A small low wattage hair dryer or desktop space heater works great for warming the wafer and preparing the skin surface. I haven't tried swimming with them yet, but they are cheap enough to change 1 or 2 times a day, esp if you get insurance reimbursement.
