Outdoorchef Ambri 480 Gas Kettle (37mb UK Regulator)

The big question going on in my mind after I pressed the buy button, was oh dear what have I done. Outdoorchef kit is not cheap, in fact quite the opposite and at £300 this is quite a considered purchase or impulse buy in my case. Box arrived with it the next day, confronted by a first problem, no assembly instructions. Internet search was successful, but considering the nice folder of information that comes in the box, I don't think its too much to ask for instructions to be provided or, have them on the website. I took me about 90 mins to construct this, ably assisted by my 10yr old grandson. It is a pretty straightforward task to assemble, and you get your first insight into what you've paid all this money for. The quality of the components is excellent. Sturdy, powder coated, and fit perfectly together. All the screws and washers needed come in a blister pack, with each type clearly marked. So given, my comment above, why still 5* rating. Well, its the way this BBQ cooks your food that is most impressive. In the short time that I've owned this BBQ, I've cooked burgers, sausages, bacon, beef short ribs and lamb steaks. All the food is cooked quickly, The indirect heat means its cooked fast, but remains very moist. You put the food on, close the lid and thats it... you can turn the food over, but the food cooks from the top and bottom so that's not really necessary. Once you get into Outdoorchef, you'll find a large range of accessories most of which take advantage of the direct heat setting. I've not got any of those to try, so can't review them. The best summary I can give of this BBQ is the food cooked on it reminds me of food cooked in an AGA. You still get the grill marks on the food, but with no flare-ups, the food cooks well and evenly and remains very moist. so, my impulse buy has turned out to be a very wise buy.

Brilliant...just brilliant, it is almost impossible to burn anything on this. Took a while to put it together but once up and running it's perfect. Ideal size for my small patio, easy to clean, looks great, cooks great. Takes a bit of getting used to with not cooking over a flame as such. Would definitely buy again

Efficient, bbq's beautifully

I find this gas barbecue ideal for the patio,it was easy to assemble,the cover protects it from any showers.I have used it to cook two chickens and some salmon .The regulator provided is for a propane gas cylinder,which I bought from a local caravan dealer. Food seems to cook quickly,no problems at all

These are well made a good size and very controllable . We also have their Geneva model and we would always look at buying this brand ahead of others ( having had Weber and Napoleon previously) as they really are excellent BBQ's

Fantastico oltre ogni aspettativa cottura perfetta facile da usare e soprattutto comodo, semplice da montare e soprattutto comodo da movimentare

Sono molto soddisfatto. Il montaggio ha richiesto quasi un'ora ma ha dato modo di vedere l'ottima fattura dei componenti. Ho dovuto sostituire il regolatore di presssione del gas perchè di tipo rapido non adatto alle nostre bombole, usato quello di un vecchio barbecue a gas che avevo. Il funzionamento è ottimo. In modalità imbuto cottura diretta il calore è più elevato al centro, come del resto accade anche con uno a carbonella, non si generano assolutamente fiamme. In modalità indiretta il calore viene diffuso dai lati e il funzionamento è ottimo. In 10 minuti arriva a più di 250 gradi, ci ho fatto anche la pizza e cuoce molto meglio del forno di casa. Pulizia un pò lunghetta per via dei 3 pezzi (griglia, imbuto diretta/indiretta, parte sotto imbuto), ma niente di problematico. Lo consiglierei.
