Sonic X Shadow Generations - PlayStation 5

I purchased this game for my son, and it’s been a fantastic choice from day one. The gameplay is engaging, fun, and age-appropriate, and it keeps him entertained without feeling overwhelming or frustrating. The graphics are bright and polished, and the controls are intuitive enough that he picked them up quickly. What I appreciate most is that the game strikes a great balance between challenge and enjoyment. It encourages problem-solving, patience, and creativity, and it’s something he genuinely looks forward to playing. The story and characters are also well-designed, which adds to the overall experience. As a parent, I’m also happy with the safe and positive environment it provides—no inappropriate content, no aggressive microtransactions, and no confusing menus aimed at adults. Overall, I’m very pleased with the purchase. It’s a solid, well-made game that’s both entertaining and appropriate for kids. My son absolutely loves it, and I’d definitely recommend it to other parents.

These aren’t all the games I have more but just couldn’t find the rest but the level that made me buy this game is Kingdom Valley, when I seen them bringing that level back from one of my favorite games of all time Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 I just had to get it it’s one of my favorite levels in the game and Shadow part is soo fire that it make me want a Sonic Generations 2 with levels from Sonic and the Secret Rings, Black Knight, Advance, and more Sonic 06 levels especially Aquatic Base. The OG was fire but this one amps it up by a thousand percent with the Shadow part but the only thing I don’t like is the dialogue change with Sonic and in some other parts but forget all that the game is still Sonicy and it doesn’t play like Frontiers which was an alright Sonic game it wasn’t the best nor the worst it was just mid but it was better than Forces which is the worst Sonic game it’s too Nintendofied (super easy and silly it isn’t the Sonic I grew up with). And I want Jason Grifffith back to voice Sonic and not Roger Craig Smith because he makes Sonic sound more like Sonic and the first time they changed him was when Sonic Colors came out for the Wii in 2010 and with the voice change Sonic’s personality changed to being silly and comedic than cool, edgy, and serious and they took out lives in the game from the original and I don’t like that because that what makes a Sonic game and I never noticed until I was in the middle of the game but it’s still Sonic and and I still love it. I want more Sonic games like this with a dark story like how Sonic was in the 2000s and the last one was Sonic Unleashed for the Xbox 360 and PS3 that did that it felt more like Sonic. My dream is for a Sonic Unleashed 2 and a Sonic 06 part 2 or remake because those games are my favorites of all time

Son was happy with his game

Bought this for my son for his birthday because he loves sonic everything and wants every sonic game, etc. First off the quality was great, love the characters, the condition was perfect and it brought back so much nostalgia watching him play. The music took me back to when I was a kid playing sonic. The price was perfect for the quality you get

I played Shadow's Campaign first, since it was new and not just slightly rewritten and it was the best decision I ever made, because his campaign rules! It's also a helluva lot more fun than the base game, and can we just appreciate the fact that Shadow's stages are FULLY 3D and not just half and half? Yeah, he has 2D stages, but the 3D stages are ACTUALLY 3D, it's been so long! And yeah, it's short and some of the stage choices are strange, like why Sunset Heights and Chaos Island? Especially if this does take place at the same time as Sonic Generations, which stops at Colors? Why not any Shadow the Hedgehog stages, since ya know, there's literally a Shadow the Hedgehog villain in the game? But yeah, back to it being short, honestly, I'd rather it be short and to the point than long and bloated like a certain OTHER Sonic game that may or may not be recent. Another thing to appreciate, the stages are longer and have deviating paths that lead to secrets and to faster routes, missed those a lot. And the final boss is so much cooler than the Time Eater, I'm not going to spoil who it is, but given who returns in this game, I think you already know who it is. This is my Game of the Year, saying it now.

Shadow Gens is a great experience. The stages are fast paced and multi layered, the music is catchy and sticks with you long after, and the story is acceptable to justify the game itself. Sonic Gens is a remaster of the 2011 version with a fresh coat of paint and some rewrites. For those who played the original, it can be quite jarring. But for newcomers, it's a fine way to experience the game for the first time.

This Sonic game does an amazing job of bringing back the classic feel and makes a way for new fans to enjoy the older stuff. First thing's first, this IS a remake of an older game from 2012, WITH a new addition of Shadow levels being added in, so it's not REALLY a new game, but that shouldn't take away from the overall game! Pros: 1. This game is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! They REALLY make the game feel upgraded and looking great at 60FPS. 2. The Shadow stuff is A++ I highly reocmmend it if you're a Shadow fan! 3. It's fun for everyone, you get the best of both worlds of classic 2D Sonic and 3D Sonic. Cons: 1. As far as I can tell it's not NEW material, save for the Shaodw section (Which homages games Shadow is in) 2. There are still a fe wminor issues like tracking when you use your abilities in the game, signs of a classic game being remade. That's about all I have to say! Check it out if you are a fan of Sonic!
