I would like to give this product 4.5 stars, but I can't do that and it doesn't deserve only 4 stars. The product deserves to be dinged half a star because comes out in varying amounts when you pump it; sometimes it's too much. That's the only flaw. I bought this because I was going on a flight with a carryon, so I needed to find as many powder or stick alternatives to liquids that I could. I own a jar of Crown Affair (I LOVE it!), which is a powder you put on with a brush for those of you not familiar, but it's pretty huge and space is always a concern. I knew about this product because my daughter uses it, so I decided to buy it for my trip and I'm really happy that I did. It's truly a great product, especially if you like a powder, but also like the quickness of an aerosol. Since you're not using a brush to apply it and instead you're pumping it on, you're working quicker than with powders that use a brush. You work it in with your fingers real quick where you pump it (just kinda shake your hair where you pumped it like you do when you're adding volume to your hair before a selfie. We all do it - no shame!), and that's it. It's takes a little longer to finish dry shampooing your hair than an aerosol, but it's quicker than a powder with a brush (yes, that even includes m'Chel's dry shampoo, another absolutely wonderful product I love). I have blonde hair, and it easily blends in with my hair (yes, you can get a white cast on the blondest of hair); it also blends well with my daughter's dirty blonde/light brown hair. Sorry that these are the only hair shades I can comment on. What I love is that you end up with a little bit of volume and no gritty texture that you get with some of the aerosol dry shampoos that are generally found at the grocery store. It has a light, airy, floral smell (it does have that powder smell that all powders have, but it's also light). I would say that for a product called fairy duster, it's what I would think that would smell like and it's pleasant and you don't notice it after you've done your hair. It's worth every penny at full price, and I will absolutely use this in my dry shampoo rotation (color wow aersol for a day where I have to be ready super quick, DAE Fairy Duster for a quick day with some breathing room, crown affair on days with no stress for time), and not just save it for travel. When it runs out, I will buy it again and feel it's worth the cost for all the reasons I stated in the review. I get the feeling the scent could be strong or offputting to some, but i promise by the time you finish styling your hair, the scent won't be noticeable to anyone unless they get up in your hair and sniff it (I hope if that happens to you, it's not creepy and it's welcomed).

I was extremely hesitant to give yet another dry shampoo a chance, but I'm very happy that I did! Not only does it smell amazing, but I can already tell that this little bottle is going to last so much longer than the aerosol cans that I felt like I bought once a month. I can easily apply some of this to my hair on the early morning of day 2 and get through to the end of day 3 hair before I wash it. I have a feeling this would last longer, but I haven't tried to go for more than 3 days between hair washes. It does have a bit of the gritty texture of most dry shampoos, so just a warning for any of my textural people, but overall, such a fantastic product! Will be buying again.

I’ve tried them all. You name it, I’ve tried it, from premium brands at Sephora, salon brands, drugstore and THIS is THE ONE. The first thing you’ll notice is it’s not aerosol, it’s a pump that shoots out a perfect little poof of the finest milled most DELICIOUS smelling beauty dust. It’s easy to get a great application. (The company makes a brush to use with it. My review is without using a brush, although now I’m intrigued.) This doesn’t make my hair feel like it has product or weird or look white. It helps my hair to feel truly CLEANER in a way I’ve never gotten from aerosol products. It feels much lighter and much more absorbent. I also believe it’s a great value and has many more uses per bottle compared to aerosols and others I’ve tried. I kinda used to feel like I was always running out of dry shampoo and that I only got a few sprays for $31. I’ve been going hard on my DAE for months and can SEE inside the bottle that we’re still going strong and have product left. I loved this so much it led me to check out other products from DAE. I also highly recommend their pink tube styling creme with the mascara brush. For reference I have fine color treated hair naturally wavy curly hair that is not especially dry or oily.

Cute bottle design, contents dispense easily. Very fine powder, didn't clump coming out, spread evenly as long as I held the canister the recommended distance away. Unnoticeable in black hair after letting it work for 20s and then brushing through. It did make my hair feel cleaner, but brushing was harder due to losing oils. Definitely effective in making roots look less slick and extending wash day. Would have given it 5* if I'd liked the fragrance more... It's not unpleasant, just too fruity candy sweet for my taste, though it does fit the fairy duster name. It's not overwhelming, but it reminds me of being in a Sephora whenever I catch the faint scent. Would def consider getting again if they came out with a different scent or unscented.

This stuff is so good. My sons love it. My sons have different dads I have curly hair, one son has straight hair one has coily hair. It works on all and on all colors one of my sons has blond hair one has brown and I have black hair. It works wonders w my sebhoreic dermatitis (spelled wrong) I have a super bad case of it. I even use it to make my skin look less oily I like it better than my setting makeup powder. All natural and good for you and smells good. Rated excellent on the yuka app for health

This dry shampoo worked really well for me. I have very fine, straight oily hair. I also don’t dye it so I don’t mind a dry shampoo giving it a little bit of “texture” to hold styles. A little went a long way with this product which I appreciated. My review is only 3 stars because the pump wasn’t able to draw out the last ~20ish percent of the powder. There was a substantial amount of product left that I just could not get to come out once it got close to the bottom. The smell is also STRONG. Unpleasantly strong. My husband and I both are repulsed by the scent of this dry shampoo and it takes a few hours for it to dissipate. It’s a very sickeningly sweet fruity smell that reminds me of a cheap perfume a 10 year old would go for. If it had a more sophisticated, less pungent smell maybe I wouldn’t mind too much. If Dae could make this product be usable to the very bottom, and make an unscented version I would easily give a 5 star rating.

Love this dry shampoo. As long as you keep the 3-6 inch distance there’s no white cast or pilling. Hair looks refreshed and healthy afterwards. Been using for couple months and still not even half way through. Pricey but worth it!

This product is on a completely different level. The smell alone is enough to make you obsessed — it smells SO dang incredible I actually look forward to using it. And the best part? A single bottle lasts forever. I used to go through aerosol bottles every week or two, and this one just keeps going. A little truly goes a long way. My hair has never been happier. My hairdresser even noticed way less damage and asked what I switched to. It doesn’t leave that weird “white cast” like so many others do — it blends beautifully, feels clean, and leaves my hair looking fresh instead of chalky. I’ve already purchased this multiple times and will be a lifetime user. I’m so thrilled to finally have a cleaner, healthier product that actually works better than anything I’ve used before. Total game‑changer.

Ce produit est une belle découverte et un gros WOW pour moi! Il donne du volume sans laisser de trace. Il réduit facilement mon temps de lavage de cheveux de deux jours et il sent merveilleusement bon. J’apprécie également, le fait qu’il ne soit pas en aérosol. La quantité de poudre est incroyable et vous en avez pour vraiment longtemps. Il suffit d’appuyer plus ou moins fort sur la buse pour libérer la quantité voulue sur le cuir chevelu et de masser ensuite pour répandre le produit. Je le recommande fortement

A great dry shampoo but the amount that dispenses, and so abruptly I may add... is hard to control. You really have to work to distribute it from the targeted spot it lands on or keep it very far from your head.

Absolutely love this product and applicator. I have black hair and this doesn’t leave a white cast. It also smells great. Will definitely buy again.

Smells nice. Works ok. Not sure if it’s with the price. Also… it arrived with no lid??? Not sure if that’s normal
