i'm middle aged, so when i got an offer to upgrade my internet to 2.5g speed, i had no idea i'd need an adapter. thank goodness they make tech like this for people like me, simple plug-and-play devices that require no tech skills or smarts. just MAKE SURE you have a 3.0 USB port. most modern PCs and laptops have them (after 2018-2019ish), but make sure before buying. the port should say 3.0 above or next to it, or you can google your PC model and find out whether you have 3.0 ports. trust me, i experimented plugging this adapter into a regular USB port, and it didn't work--no 2.5g download speed. but i put it in the 3.0 port, and presto, my speed was something like 2.7, even a little faster than advertised. it's a solid little unit, well built, some folks say you need to update its drivers but i didn't have to, it worked right out of the box (whew). it connected right away and i believe it's compatible with all Windows devices that have a 3.0 USB port. whoever dreams up and makes these handy little USB devices for those of us who don't upgrade our hardware every couple of months, i give you my heartfelt middle-aged thanks.

Work and functions at 2.5Gb on Linux and Windows without having to find drivers for it - plug and play. Saves a lot of time being able to copy files to and from at 2.5Gb/s speeds.

I originally planned to use a PCIe slot for a 2.5 gig NIC card as an upgrade to the 1 gig LAN port on my micro ATX motherboard. But the video card I installed occupies too much space to use either of the two remaining slots. This dongle solved my problem, and allowed me to utilize the full speed of my internet connection. I plugged it into a USB 3.0 jack on the back of my mini tower. (while plugged into the faster USB 3.2, it caused problems with 'sleep' function.) I have not noticed any significant increase in usage of my 6 core CPU since installing this speedy adapter. It certifiably provides 2.5 gigs while running cool. (Its aluminum case is barely warm to the touch after streaming multiple busy tabs and videos for several hours). I hope it lives a long, productive life.

I recently upgraded my network to 2gb but my machine only supported 1gbps. It truly is "plug and play" but you NEED to plug it in to a USB 3.0 port (blue) I have an available USB 3.10 eXtensible Host Controller gen.1 (much faster at 5gbps) but it would only give me 200mbps max. After I plugged it in to a regular 3.0 port it was giving me at least 2gbps. Very happy with this product. Edit: I've had this for over a week and it's now somewhat intermittent. I checked my speeds this morning and I was only getting 400mbps. I unplugged it then back in and then it shot up to 1.6gbps but then gradually sank down to 150mbps. I'll keep troubleshooting but it ultimately may not work due to the inconsistency.

Quality and works well

This works very well. I recently got 2 gb fiber for my home. My PC will only run up to 1 gig with it's current network adapter. I am not a tech guru, I researched it online. VERY IMPORTANT- First, go to the ugreen web page and download the driver for the adapter. (unzip the rar file). Then disable your existing adapter. On a PC that would be in your Device Manager. Plug this adapter into a USB port 3.0 (blue inside the socket). Then hook up your network cable. GO to the driver you downloaded and install it. If you don't install the driver the device will not work at full speed capabilities.

I dont know if its something on my end or what, but i can not get ANY updates for windows when i use the adaptor. I plug in my wifi and that works. Plug in the adaptor and i just get error codes from anything microsoft related. Should be able to use it for gaming and such still, which is great since its what i got it for, but if the seller could get back to me with some kind of solution, i'm all ears. I thought my friend deleting bloat ware was the cause, but it turns out it was just this lol Edit(06/21/25): I was able to fix the issues with windows by clearing the DNS, but it still has some issues with some of the games i play. Hope the seller gets back to me. Edit:(07/10/25): Lowering my rating to 1 star since I haven't heard from the seller. This thing is fine, except the DNS cache wont clear. No matter what i do, it doesn't clear properly. So it's most likely the reason i cant update windows. Its also the reason i cant sign in on some games. I'm giving the seller till the 13th to get in contact with me before i put in for a refund.

Fonctionne parfaitement, je suis passé d'un ping de 2 ms avec un débit descendant/ascendant de 0.9 G à un ping de 1 ms avec un débit descendant/ascendant de 2,4 G soit 3 fois plus. Seul petit soucis, je suis sous Windows 10 et l'adapteur n'a pas été reconnu par défaut. Je n'ai jamais pu trouver le driver sur le site UGREEN. En faisant un peu de recherche sur google, j'ai compris que l'adapteur était équipé d'une puce Realtek RTL8156BG. Il faut donc faire une recherche Google "Realtek RTL8156BG driver" Le fichier d'installation se trouve sur le site RealTek et à partir de là, tout fonctionne parfaitement. My 2 cents :-)
