Easy to use and accurate Ninja Woodfire Grill
This wireless probe works great and is super easy to use. It runs on Bluetooth, and the wireless transmitter box doubles as the charger. I figured out that for the best connection, you really need to leave the transmitter box right next to the grill. I actually bought this specific one because my Ninja Woodfire grill did not come with a built in probe. Getting it set up is simple. You just download the app, stick the probe into the meat up to the notch, and set your target temperature. The app works on a smart watch too. I am all teamed out with Apple gear and it works flawlessly on both devices. The probe sends an update every single time the temperature goes up by one degree, which is awesome for tracking. I do end up muting the app though, because it chimes every single time the temp shifts, and that gets annoying fast. I do not really have any massive complaints. My only real gripe is that the Bluetooth range isn’t the best. I originally kept the transmitter box inside the house by the back door, but it kept dropping the connection. Moving the transmitter outside right next to the grill fixed that. Now I can move around the house way better, even if it is still not quite as far as I would like. I just leave my phone in the back bedroom about 25 feet away from the transmitter, and then my watch handles the notifications perfectly anywhere in the house. Overall, it is a great probe.

5-Star Review for MEATER SE: Solid Economy Upgrade with Minor Trade-offs
I'm giving this 5 stars because it's excellent for what it is—an economical upgrade to the original MEATER. I owned the first version, which lasted for years. When it finally broke, I was looking for a new model. It seems product development has diverged into two paths: one advancing thinner thermometers with greater heat resistance and cloud features, and the other focusing on maintaining the core features with slight hardware and software upgrades at a more affordable price. The MEATER SE follows this second path. The MEATER website and product detail pages don’t clearly differentiate the models, so it took some research to determine the differences. The MEATER SE was a good fit for my needs, so I opted for it over the more feature-rich units. It’s exactly what I was looking for, with updated software that remains as helpful as ever. Pros: *Affordability: Provides essential MEATER functionality at a lower price. *Improved Software: The app is updated and still highly user-friendly. Minor Cons: *Probe Sharpness: The probe isn’t quite as sharp as the original, making it a bit harder to insert into tough chicken or turkey skin. *Charger as Bridge: The charger now serves as a "bridge" between the probe and the app. In the original, the phone had to stay near the probe in the oven, or I'd get a message to move it closer. Now, the notification says to bring the charger closer. Moving some tech to the charger probably boosts the probe’s max ambient temperature, but I'm not entirely sure. Cooking Performance: When using this thermometer for high-temperature cooking, like Sara Moulton's "Blasted Chicken" method (baking at 480°F or as high as your oven will go until reaching 165°F internal temp), I noticed that the MEATER SE tends to overshoot the target slightly. For example, during the resting period, it sometimes goes up to 175°F after notifying me to remove the chicken. While not ideal, it's manageable, and the overall performance is still very reliable. Overall: The MEATER SE is a solid, no-frills choice that meets basic needs well. It’s an affordable upgrade with a few quirks but remains a great product for those who want reliable, straightforward performance without the extra features.

So much better than my old Meater — the range is fantastic!
I upgraded from my original Meater to the MEATER SE and it’s a noticeable improvement in every way. The Bluetooth range is dramatically better — I can walk all the way to the living room (about 50–60 feet away) while the probe is in the grill or oven and the connection stays rock-solid. No more constant “lost connection” warnings like I had with the older model. Everything else feels upgraded too: the probe is sleeker, the app is smoother and more reliable, and the temperature readings are spot-on every time. I’ve used it for steaks, chicken, pork roast, and even a whole turkey — all came out perfectly cooked. The ambient sensor is accurate, the charging block is compact, and cleanup is still super easy (just wipe it down). If you have an older Meater and get frustrated with the short range, this SE version is absolutely worth the upgrade. It’s now my go-to thermometer and I honestly don’t know how I cooked without it. Excellent product!

Not worth having
Maybe I got a “lemon.” Maybe they’re just not as good as they were originally. Seems a lot of people have had good results but we sure didn’t. Pros: was excited to have a device that would enable me to keep the lid down on the smoker and monitor long cooks on large cuts of meat. 1. Battery life was longer than expected, that was good. Cons: failed on all counts except battery life (maybe it lasted longer because it was hardly working). 1. Probe wouldn’t stay paired even when base was within 12” (and on the smoker, this meant rigging up a cumbersome place for it right in front of the lid, as it wouldn’t work at all off to the side where the table surface is - even at about a foot away from the probe inside). 2. Phone app, when paired (and I did try the method mentioned in another review among other ways), would lose signal *inside* the house if not kept in a direct line to the smoker, through a window and within about 15’. Outside, I could get about 20- 25’ before it disconnected. 3. “Estimated cook time remaining” was a joke. It would say “5 minutes remaining” for hours. (Although maybe I should have believed it when it first said that- see #4) 4. Temperature readings were woefully low, both for the internal monitor and the ambient. Instead of believing my smoker, and later my oven when the 10lb chuck roast came in to finish - I steadfastly stuck with the probe’s readings, which meant I kept increasing temperature on the smoker and the oven to keep the roast in range (shooting for 225-250° ambient). Result? A beautiful 10lb chuck took over 16 hours, was “finished” at 2am (after waking every 20 minutes to check the app), and was reduced to a dry hunk of jerky. Needless to say, I returned it and will go back to my tried and true (if a little less convenient) standard meat thermometer. What a sad waste of time, sleep, shipping efforts, and materials. I have since purchased two different oven thermometers to check the accuracy of my smoker and oven, and both stay within about 10° of their set point. My advice is to try something different and save your money on this one! Maybe you’ll get one that works - but there’s a good chance you won’t. If you do get one, I’d compare readings with a trusted thermometer for the first few go rounds to save yourself some headaches- and some meat!

Perfect for Everyday Cooking
The MEATER SE Smart Bluetooth Meat Thermometer has become an indispensable tool in my kitchen. I use it almost every night when preparing dinner, often with my Ninja Combi, and it consistently delivers flawless results. The thermometer is impressively accurate, providing precise meat and ambient temperature readings that take the guesswork out of cooking. The app integration is intuitive and simple—just download the app, connect via Bluetooth, choose your protein, cut, cooking style, and desired temperature, and you’re ready to go. One of the standout features is the estimated cook time remaining, which is incredibly helpful for planning meals. The thermometer’s ability to monitor both internal meat temperature and the ambient environment simultaneously ensures consistent results. Despite my initial concerns about the battery life, I’ve been using it for weeks without having to change the battery, even after occasionally leaving it off the dock. Its performance has exceeded my expectations, especially for a battery-powered device. Overall, the MEATER SE is reliable, easy to use, and highly accurate, making it a must-have for anyone who values precision in the kitchen. It’s earned a solid five stars from me, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their cooking experience.

Not bad
Not a bad product. Loses connection with the base every now and then when the probe is in the oven even when the base is sitting right on top of the oven

Well worth the purchase!
This works GREAT! We have used it for prime rib, ribs, turkey's and many other cuts of meat. It is very easy to use and you can clearly monitor the meat from your phone. It is accurate and the meat turns out better than most other meat when cooked without the thermometer. It only takes a few minutes to sensor the temperature of the meat once put into the oven. It also reads the temperature of the oven about the same speed as determining the internal meat temperature. It stays securely in the meat and does not move during cooking. We have been very happy with it and have even purchased them as gifts.

Best grilling/smoking tool ever
The app connectivity is fantastic, just make sure your base is close to the probe. The probe combined with a very well thought out app is the perfect cooling tool. The ease of use and intuitiveness of the app makes Meater probably the best tool since the tongs or spatula! The probe is very well built and after at least a hundred hours of smoking and grilling is still just like brand new.

Prodotto ottimo
Consigliato

Fantastic Thermometer
This item is nothing short of brilliant. Can be used in all kinds of cooking appliances and cooks the meat perfect every time! Takes a little bit of practice getting used to it but once you have learned it is very easy to use! Advertised as takes up to 275 degrees external so will work at any temperature I need. Is expensive but is one of the cheaper models in the range and works just as well. Highly recommend.

Well worth the price.
I am pleased with my purchase of the Meater thermometer. Its maiden run was smoking a pork shoulder for pulled pork and it came out fantastic. I think the advertised connectivity range is a bit exaggerated, but otherwise works as intended. Depending on what your house is made out you might have some connectivity issues, for me from the main floor no problems anywhere in the house, from my office in the basement it was disconnecting even though I was maybe 10ft from the smoker. The app is very intuitive, works well and the alerts are... persistent. The notification you get to tell you that the app is still running everytime you shut off the screen on your phone is a bit annoying but there is likely a way to quiet those. All around happy with the product. .
