I just got them and hope they work. But I am a lefty. It's really frustrating when people false advertise. **Q: Will these give split ends?** A: I am a professional cosmetologist. I didn't buy THESE scissors but cutting doesn’t cause split ends. If cut properly, cutting your hair gets rid of the split ends. Split ends happen for several reasons. Over using hot irons and blow dryers, chemical processing (colors, bleach, perms, swimming pool chemicals ), pulling too hard on your hair when it’s wet, over brushing, using the wrong kind of brush (I suggest a boar bristle brush), not moisturizing, sun and wind damage. A good, sharp pair of professional scissors are best for cutting hair. The best way to avoid split ends is to be gentle on your hair when it’s wet. Hydrate your hair with a good conditioner with a PH of between 4.5 to 5.5. When blow drying your hair use a lower heat setting and don’t completely dry it out, leave it a little damp if possible. Don’t over brush your hair. Sleep on silk pillows. Silk causes less friction thus less damage. Don’t wash your hair every day. Some natural oils are good for your hair and hard water and high alkaline shampoos will dry out and damage your hair leaning them weak and brittle. Give hair a break in between colors and perms. They are very damaging to your hair. If you must do a chemical treatment make sure to use a deep conditioning treatment afterward to restore hairs moisture.
